- I know there are 5 styles of kung fu Is that what you know? The 5 Animal are sets that are included in various arts. And the ones you mentioned are wrong. Crane is not used for Balance. You got this from some TV program with the crane guy dodging ninja stars while balancing on Mei Hua poles. Those people were showing how little they understand martial arts and the crane guy was representing Tibetan Crane. He must have been bursting from wanting to show the true essence of Tibetan Crane but couldn't because the show dictates what they want to showcase. Either way, don't go by your own understanding because you don't know the real essence of these styles. Go online and research for yourself, from reputable sources. I can point you to some if you're really interested in TRUTH in the martial arts and not BS. Don't say things like I know that... because you don't. Learn about it for real.

Without a crane, it will be difficult to lift that much and swing it around. With the crane, though, let's look at the advantage when a fulcrum is placed under the pole and the person pushes down on the pole to lift the weight. First, note that gravity is in favor of the person to use their weight on the pole. Using physics, with the fulcrum place at x from the mass to be lifted, the downward force of the person is F*(9-x)=224*x or F=224*x/(9-x) now plug in some values for x and compute the force: x F 4.5 224 3.5 143 2.5 86 1.5 45 0.5 13 I started by placing the fulcrum exactly in the middle and then moving the fulcrum in increments of 1 foot closer to the weight to be lifted Notice that the more pole towards the person pressing down, the less force the person has to apply to lift the weight. Also, note that when the fulcrum is in the middle, the person must apply a downward force equal to the weight - which willl be difficult foir a person that weighs 112lbs. - Q: These cranes always stay higher than the construction process but I have never seen how they are extended to stay above all of it. They come in two formats, free standing and those attached to the building. The possibilities that I thought of was that maybe they use another crane to lift the housing and the horisontal arm to put in more modules into the vertical part; or that they extend it by some way by putting modules in at the top or bottom and that the crane has some self-lifting mechanism to accommodate the insertion of more modules. However, I have never seen this being done, nor does the construction of these cranes point to its ability to do so. The only other possibility that I could think of was that the crane is set up at the outset to be higher than the completed height of the building, hence there is no need to extend it but this does not explain how they do it for very high buildings where the crane is attached to the building and seems to grow higher with the building.

For cold temp. use you'll need LCC or low temp carbon steel (requiring Charpy Impact values of 15 foot pounds at - 25 degrees F. The materials used can be either cast ASTM A148, or 9060, or A487 4B or a forged 4140 material. All have the properties in the ASTM specs (see specs on line . com). All of these specs have specific heat treats that are part of the individual specs.
