The signal strength on the phone was absolutely terrible. I never got more than 3 bars in places i would normally get full strength and that was on other virgin mobile phones. 3. The camera on the back would be really funky sometimes. It would show any picture i took with a blue color and i had no effects on it. 4. It got really dirty really quickly and the back cover never really fits on there correctly. I would say wait, i believe they should be getting some new phones to virgin sometime late feb.-mid march.

Q: I had shortlisted the Sony Ericsson T700 and G502 as the choices for my first mobile phone. I am pretty convenient at using mobile phones (as all my relatives have one) so using them is not a problem. My first pref is the T700 but as it is costlier and mostly has the same features as the cheaper G502 (except camera mp, menu layout and more RSS functions), I am thinking of going for the G502. However, I have read that the G502's build quality is poor and it hangs and restarts and similar sort of things. Also some people say that the colour starts coming off after a few months. Is that a cause for worry?I know that firmware needs to be updated regularly so, if I maintain it well, are there chances of problems creeping up? I would also like to know from G502 users if they liked it or if they had some specific problems with it? I was just after a low cost phone that would allow me to check emails, get weather reports, connect to messenger, etc. The screen is a little small but I can read my mail using Google's excellent mobile mail app. I haven't tried to write an email with it yet. Build quality is good and I haven't had any problems with it hanging, although a couple of websites that I was viewing with the built in browser have caused it to restart. Can't comment on the paint coming off yet. I think the screen would be easily scratched so I try to avoid putting it in the same pocket as keys, coins, etc. and I'm looking for some sort of cover to protect it. Yes, there is no difference between a PrePay SIM card and a SIM card activated on a contract. There is no difference in the process for us in activating a used phone, or a brand new phone. (Except the SideKick) Just know that PrePay will not allow the data functions to work on Data phones (BlackBerry, Wing, Dash, any windows mobile device.) If it is a SideKick, just let the salesman know, it is a slightly different process, but no big deal. Also, if it is a SK and it was previously registered to someone else, after you activate you have to call 1800.937.8997 and ask for the SK department, then ask them to wipe it clean. They dont care where the phones come from, it is not their problems, so dont worry. Hope that helps Choose best answer if you think mine was!!!!

Q: I bought an LG OptimusV right before Christmas and for about a month now though, it has been freezing up. It is to the point now where at least twice daily it will completely lock until I take out the battery and replace it. If you are pursuing the warranty replacement route, then you are stuck with another Optimus V, and they do not offer discounts on replacement phones. I would agree that the Optimus V is not a good phone, but when you look at how cheap that Virgim Mobile is, you can see how they cannot offer higher quality phones (basically it will be costly enough that it will cost them customers, as they typically want things on the cheap.). At least the phones that Virgin Mobile offers are better quality than those that Straight Talk offers (around 1 in 5 Straight Talk phones are defective).

When this happens my phone shows 'Emergency only' - if it says 'No signal' it is totally out of contact. It is possible that some phones are programmed to show 'No signal' when they will still accept emergency calls. Check with your provider.
