- Q: i recently got started with oil paint, and some of my tubes are leaking quite a bit. i seal the cap well, and there are no holes or anything in the tubes. i read that putting the tubes under extreme heat or sunlight can cause them to leak, but i do neither of these things.how do you prevent/solve this?
- Leaking okorder /... Both of these prevent the dreaded twist and crack that can open up a hole where paint can both leak and be exposed to air. Also treat the caps gently. Make certain to routinely clean off the paint that biulds up around the threads. Wipe this off as opposed to allowing it to dry forcing you to remove it with harsher methods like scraping or using a solvent. Be conscious of the way the cap feels when tightening it on the threads. Sense whether it has derailed or whether the threads are clogged. Paint can build up on the tube threads and/or the threads inside the cap. These caps are fragile and often strip or crack. If a cap gets stuck and the tube body begins to twist while attempting to unscrew the cap run the cap end under hot water until it loosens up. Avoid twisting the tube body. It will tear apart. It is a good idea to save the good caps of old used tubes when they are ready to be trashed. They are not all interchangeable but they might be and it is worth having some around. Replacement caps are not sold by themselves but if you catch a bad cap on a new tube you may have a replacement sent to you by the manufacturer if purchased directly. You could try asking for a complete tube of paint replacement from retailers. I have done both successfully.
- Q: How long do plastic tubes typically last?
- The lifespan of plastic tubes can vary depending on various factors such as the type of plastic, the environment they are exposed to, and the specific application they are used for. However, in general, plastic tubes can last anywhere from a few months to several years.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for architectural installations?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for architectural installations. They are often chosen for their versatility, lightweight nature, and cost-effectiveness. Plastic tubes can be easily cut, shaped, and connected to create unique and innovative architectural designs. They are commonly used for creating temporary structures, such as exhibition displays, and can also be used for permanent installations.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for bottling beverages?

- Q: the drinking water to taste like plastic of vinyl? Or could it be the new inline filter that I placed behind the fridge? I ran 3 gallons of water after I fixed the broken water line (split in half near the bottom where it 180s) and change the filter. When you first drink the water, it tastes ok. After the glass sits for a while, it takes on a plastic taste. Could it be that 4 inch piece of clear plastis hose I used to splice the water line?
- This will not taste like the plastic of vinyl.
- Q: What exactly is tubes in ears?
- Tiny tubes are inserted thru the eardrum in order to relieve mucus and/or fluid that has built up behind the membrane; usually as a result of infection. Eventually the eardrum grows back and the tubes fall out on their own.
- Q: How do plastic tubes perform in low-pressure applications?
- Plastic tubes generally perform well in low-pressure applications. They are lightweight, flexible, and have good resistance to corrosion and chemicals. However, their performance can vary depending on the specific type of plastic used and the application requirements. It is important to consider factors such as temperature, pressure, and compatibility with the fluid being transported when selecting plastic tubes for low-pressure applications.
- Q: I'm building a computer and I got to the liquid cooling option and I can't decide between copper tubing and plastic tubing. I've seen plastic tubing and know that plastic is easier to detach, but I think copper might cool the components better. Any suggestions?(Note-this is not a budget build by any means-I want to know which one performs better, not what's the best bang for your buck)
- Copper is better bang but needs to be bent for each component. Plastic is flexible and just needs to be cut to length
- Q: Are plastic tubes safe for children's toys?
- Plastic tubes can be safe for children's toys if they meet the necessary safety standards and are free from any harmful chemicals or choking hazards. However, it is important to ensure that the plastic tubes are age-appropriate, durable, and have no sharp edges to minimize any potential risks to children.
- Q: What are the different end cap options for plastic tubes?
- Some of the different end cap options for plastic tubes include screw caps, snap-on caps, push-on caps, flip-top caps, and threaded caps. These options provide varying degrees of security, convenience, and ease of use for sealing and accessing the contents of the tube.
