Q: So I was eating GoGurt yogurt. And I think I accidentally swallowed a part or the jagged part on the top of the tube. I don't think it was very big. I'm guessing the size was the size of half of a dime or a 1/4 of a dime. I know this doesn't sound too bad, since I've heard people who swallowed pennies, then they were fine, but I don't know how to get rid of it. I can still breathe and drink normally, but when I talk for too long, my throat starts to hurt a little. So far, I've tried drinking lots of water, swallowing some food to push it down (rice. :D), coughing, vomiting, and clearing my throat but I think it's still there. I'm actually not sure if it's still there or if it is gone, or just made a cut so it hurts. But I don't want to go to the doctors or ER, I'm poor. Are there any other ways to get the plastic out? Oh and if I leave it there, how long will it take for it to go down my throat and digest?
I doubt there's anything solid still in your throat. The pharynx in lined with mucus membrane and it's a sensitive tissue as well. It's made to allow things to slide through but it's also sensitive as a protective measure. I expect some very small area in your oropharynx or laryngopharynx was mildly irritated. It will resolve spontaneously. Did you for some reason think this might be the first time this has happened in the history of man? (I'm just teasing you) Don't force the coughing, vomiting (this raises new issues) or throat-clearing anymore, that serves only to further and prolong the irritation. Ignore it and by tomorrow afternoon, you'll suddenly realize your throat no longer hurts. @ Daniel, neither of what you list is CPR. I think you're trying to describe abdominal thrusts and a mouth sweep. These measures can be utilized along with CPR when they are appropriate. You've demonstrated clearly that not only do you do not know to perform either one but that you do not understand the purpose of them.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for gardening or irrigation purposes?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for gardening or irrigation purposes. They are commonly used as drip irrigation systems, allowing for efficient and targeted watering of plants. Plastic tubes are durable, flexible, and can be easily installed, making them a popular choice for gardeners and farmers alike.
Q: How do plastic tubes compare to stainless steel tubes in terms of weight?
Plastic tubes are generally lighter in weight compared to stainless steel tubes.
Q: im just wondering
I believe the best way to protect your ear from getting water in it is to purchase moldable wax like ear plugs. It's cleaner and safer than cotton mixed with vaseline which may clog the tube and attract dirt in the ear canal. They are fine for swimming and showering.
Q: How do plastic tubes compare to carbon fiber tubes in terms of strength?
Carbon fiber tubes are generally stronger than plastic tubes. Carbon fiber has a high strength-to-weight ratio and exceptional stiffness, making it a preferred choice for applications that require maximum strength and durability. Plastic tubes, on the other hand, have lower strength properties and are more prone to deformation or breakage under high stress or load conditions.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for storing corrosive substances?
No, plastic tubes should not be used for storing corrosive substances as they are not chemically resistant and may react with the corrosive material, causing leakage or contamination.
Q: I have a fairly old A/C unit in my home. Thanks to my lovely new puppy's curiosity a white tube running from the unit into the house is now broken. It appeared to be a plastic tube about an inch or so in diameter. What is this tube for and what would be the easiest method of repairing it? It is broken clean off and there is now about a 10-14 inch piece missing.
Nothing to worry about..thats a condensation tube for over flow of a little water....it can drain off in the yard...that other answer is crazy about freon mixing with water!!!
Q: i am designing something that has a frame of tubing that its relaxed when there is no air pressure in it, but becomes straight and reletivley rigid when when you put air presure in it.
The 2 foot diameter nylon sleeves filled with low pressure air that you see for advertising displays. If you try to use small diameter tubing, with flexible plastic tubing, it won't work. The closest tubing that does work is specially made for pressure gauges, and it just slightly uncoils under pressure.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for electric wire protection in outdoor applications?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for electric wire protection in outdoor applications. Plastic tubes, such as PVC or polyethylene, are commonly used due to their durability, resistance to weather conditions, and ability to protect wires from moisture, UV rays, and physical damage. However, it is important to choose the appropriate type and thickness of plastic tube based on the specific requirements and environmental conditions of the outdoor application.
Q: We currently use round bottom glass test tubes on our automation but suffer a large dead volume. We are looking to find a supplier of low dead volume glass/plastic test tubes to trial
That's an unusual question. MANY years ago (50 or so) when we used to run a lot of pregnancy tests by utilizing Leopard Frogs, we used to use V-bottomed test tubes to spin down the sediment. Frankly, that's pretty much the only example I can remember where we used them. But I would think that they are still around. I would suggest you contact a laboratory supply house or two or three, and ask them. They are much more likely to be able to give you an answer than us geeks on the Yahoo medicine board. The stuff I used 50 years ago might not be around anymore.
