Q: Are plastic tubes microwave-safe?
No, plastic tubes are generally not microwave-safe as they can melt or release harmful chemicals when exposed to high temperatures. It is recommended to use microwave-safe materials such as glass or ceramic when heating food or liquids in the microwave.
Q: How are plastic tubes printed with instructions or warnings?
Plastic tubes are typically printed with instructions or warnings using various printing methods such as screen printing, pad printing, or digital printing. These techniques allow for the precise application of text, symbols, or images onto the surface of the tubes. The choice of printing method depends on factors like tube material, desired resolution, and the complexity of the design.
Q: what is dialysis tubing? how can it be used to demonstrate osmosis?
Dialysis tubing is actually a semi-permeable membrane when used in water. Experiments illustrating osmosis and pressure gradients across a membrane use dialysis tubing. This tubing usually comes in rolls and when wet, will open up into a cylindrical tube that can be tied off at the ends. The tubing can also be fitted over a thistle tube for such experiments. Dialysis tubing is literally a semi-permeable sheet of plastic. [Like a cell membrane, it can allow certain things in, but not everything.] In a dialysis tubing experiment, one fills the inside of the sheet with a concentrated liquid of some sort and then seals off the open ends of the tube. Then, one places the tube and liquid into another type of liquid and after awhile, the liquid from the outside moves inside the tube. What I did for my first dialysis tubing experiment was filling the inside of the tube with a concentrated starch solution and placed the tubing into a beaker of Lugol's solution diluted with distilled water. After a 1/2 hr, some of the Lugol's and distilled water will have entered the dialysis tubing. One can see that osmosis has happened because the Lugol's in the tube would have turned blue when in contact with the starch. Osmosis caused the diluted/unconcentrated solution of Lugol's and dH2O to go through the semi permeable membrane and into the concentrated solution of starch. Like a cell's membrane, if the outside of the cell is more concentrated, the cell would lose water because the the water will leave the cell and go for the concentrated outside environment. If the inside of the cell was more concentrated than the outside, the outside water will go into the cell through the semipermeable membrane.
Q: Can plastic tubes be easily labeled or branded?
Yes, plastic tubes can be easily labeled or branded. Plastic tubes have a smooth surface that allows for various labeling methods, such as adhesive labels, heat transfer labels, or direct printing. This makes it convenient to add branding, product information, or other relevant details onto the tubes, ensuring easy identification and promotion.
Q: I have a question. I have a air pump and some of the plastic tubing in my aquarium right not. Well, the plastic tubing has hardened and just will not stay in place. So I am thinking of going and purchasing some of the silicon airline tubing. I have a treasure chest and a sunken ship in the aquarium, but they do not have the hookup (airstone). So, I just put the tubes let the air come out of the end. Do I have to have an airstone? I haven't up until now and the bubbles are big. What do I need to purchase when I go to the pet store? Thanks!
Hi! I am in the process of doing the same thing! The first thing you need to figure out is the actual size of your fish tank because that is going to determine the size of the filter and heater that you need, not to mention, how many fish you can put in your tank. The rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon of water for most freshwater tropical fish. It is different for goldfish and african cichlids though. Here is the list of things I would get: BASICS: heater, power filter, water conditioner, thermometer, fish net, tropical fish flake THEN: gravel, plants, tank background, decorations, lighted hood(flourescent is best), beneficial bacteria, a gravel siphon for cleaning, get a self starting one, it's worth the extra few dollars, bucket strictly for water changes. Take a tap water sample to the fish store with you so you know what pH you are dealing with. Angelfish like a slightly acidic pH between 6.5 and 6.8. They can be acclimated to other levels though. Take the time to do some research on the nitrogen cycle and acclimating your fish. It can save the life of your fish. Angelfish are great fish with alot of personality. I hope you enjoy yours!
Q: One charged plastic ball is vertically above another in a test tube. The balls are in equilibrium a distance d apart. If the charge on each ball is doubled, the distance between the balls in the test tube would become:a. 4db. 2dc. 8d
Equilibrium is established when the electric force between the balls = weight of upper ball .. this force is constant at any spacing. F = k.q1.q2 / d? .. .. For constant F .. q1.q2 ∝ d? .. .. d ∝ √(q1.q2) When q1 and q2 double .. (q1.q2) increases by a factor of 4 .. and d by a factor √4 = 2 Ans .. ?(b).2d
Q: I need to connect some flexible plastic tubing to a hard plastic nozzle both 3/8 outer diameter. It needs to be able to be attached and detached easily (like screwing it in or something), and the seal between them needs to be water tight. Anybody have any ideas? Are there any couplers that can do this easily?. I'd rather not thread the inside of the hard plastic nozzle, but if thats the only way, how do I do that?
they make a great coupler called a SHARK BITE. Go to home depot to get them. Easy on and off as you need
Q: What are the different colors available for plastic tubes?
The different colors available for plastic tubes can vary depending on the manufacturer, but commonly available colors include clear, white, black, and various shades of blue, green, red, and yellow.
Q: They are maybe a foot and a half long and are a hard hollow plastic tube. There is a sound maker inside and when you turn the toy vertically gravity pulls the sound maker down and noise comes out. It goes OOOOOOOOOOOAAHHHHH!!! I know that's a funny spelling, I laughed just typing it but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about.
Giggle sticks. I love those things!!!
Q: It needs to be a bit smaller than a pringle tube, min 2mm thickness bout 30cm length maybe 5cm diameter. I need to be able to seal both ends and its got to be sturdy not squashy and preferably shatter proof.Ive seen mailing tubes and poster tubes even baseball bat tubes but there all either too big or come in packs I only need 3...can anyone help? P.s im in the U.K
you smoked something that you didnt even know what the hell it was? are you CRAZY!? it could have been anything, the equipment used doesnt really point to what was used. it could have been Meth amphetamine, Crack, Marijuana, or any manner of chemical/drug. i suggest that next time if your going to use, you atleast find out what it is. Edit_ if it was a tube like a small pipe, it probably wasnt marajuana, it's usually placed in a bong (google it), made into a ciggrette/joint/spliff/blunt or made into a food to consume.
