- Q: What is the shear modulus of steel and silver? Please help! and state where you got it from...what site did you used? Thanks.
- Shear Modulus Of Steel
- Q: How are steel coils used in the production of electrical connectors?
- Steel coils are used in the production of electrical connectors as they provide a strong and durable core component. The coils are wound into the desired shape and size, and then further processed to create the necessary conductive pathways for electrical current. This ensures stability, strength, and efficient conductivity in the connectors, making them suitable for various electrical applications.
- Q: What are the dimensions of steel coils used in the automotive industry?
- The dimensions of steel coils used in the automotive industry can vary depending on the specific application, but common dimensions range from 0.5mm to 3mm in thickness and 600mm to 2000mm in width.
- Q: If you combine stainless steel with gold, does that make stainless gold?
- Stainless steel, I believe, was an actual trade name of a british cutlery company's knives, once the ability to create iron-chromium alloys was mastered. Stainless steel's main alloying agent that prevents it from rusting, is Chromium. The Chromium in the steel creates an protective layer (not unlike rust), which acts as a protectant for the rust-prone iron...keeping real rust away. I am no metallurgist, but I have not heard of gold being used as an alloying agent in common steels. I'm not even sure they would mix. Not all metals can be stirred together successfully. Even if gold could be used as an alloying agent for steel, it would need to be in such a small percentage, you would not end up with a metal that was gold in appearance...so it would still look like steel of some sort. The funny part is, gold is already stainless, and does not tarnish or rust as it is.
- Q: What are the advantages of using steel coils in construction?
- There are several advantages of using steel coils in construction. Firstly, steel coils are extremely strong and durable. They have a high tensile strength, which means they can withstand heavy loads and resist deformation. This makes them ideal for structural applications in construction, such as beams, columns, and frames. Secondly, steel coils are highly versatile. They can be easily shaped and molded into various forms, allowing for flexibility in design and construction. Steel coils can be rolled, bent, cut, and welded to meet specific project requirements. This adaptability makes them suitable for a wide range of construction applications. Another advantage of using steel coils in construction is their resistance to corrosion. Steel coils are often coated with protective coatings, such as galvanized or stainless steel, to prevent rusting and corrosion. This ensures that the structural integrity of the building remains intact over time, even in harsh environmental conditions. Furthermore, steel coils offer excellent fire resistance. Unlike other construction materials like wood, steel does not burn or contribute to the spread of fire. This makes it a safer choice for construction, particularly in high-rise buildings or areas prone to fire hazards. Lastly, steel coils are cost-effective. While the initial cost of using steel coils may be higher compared to some other materials, their longevity and low maintenance requirements make them a cost-efficient option in the long run. Steel coils have a long lifespan and require minimal repairs or replacements, resulting in reduced maintenance costs and increased overall value. In conclusion, the advantages of using steel coils in construction include their strength, versatility, corrosion resistance, fire resistance, and cost-effectiveness. These qualities make steel coils an excellent choice for various construction applications, contributing to the durability and safety of buildings.
- Q: Why buy recycled steel and from where to buy?
- Where you buy all your steel. The recycled and new steel are indistinguishable from each other. You won't recognize the one from the other. Same thing with glass. A certain percentage must be used glass, to enhance the quality of the total batch. Peace.
- Q: What is future prospect of these steel structures, are they really weather proof like everyone believes??
- Which steel buildings are you asking about? The Empire States Building has a steel frame and is completely weatherproof. Most industrial factories have steel frames and are weatherproof. It is the cladding that makes them weatherproof. By the way there is a difference between weatherproof and waterproof.
- Q: Can steel coils be coated with thermally conductive materials?
- Yes, steel coils can be coated with thermally conductive materials. These coatings, such as thermally conductive paints or ceramic coatings, are designed to enhance heat transfer properties and improve the thermal conductivity of the steel coils. This can be beneficial in various applications where efficient heat dissipation or thermal management is required.
- Q: What are the pros and cons of non-stick and stainless steel pots and pans ?Thanks
- Non Stick is good for frying, sauteeing, etc., but I find they don't tend to last as long as regular stainless steel pans because they can get scratched relatively easy if you use metal stirring utensils. Stainless steel is good for soups, stews, or if you plan to use a metal stirring utensil (whisk, fork, etc.). I use both non-stick and stainless steel pots and pans. I think the most useful pots/pans I have are my medium-sized, non-stick frying pan and my small, stainless steel dutch oven.
- Q: i have a pocket knife that is stainless steel that my mom found in the parking lot and i am wondering if oxygen peroxide will rust it? and if it dose is there something else i can use to get rid of the rust?
- Stainless steel does not rust, but It can get dulled. Oxygen peroxide will not hurt it.
