Q: I have a honda civic 1995 and the speakers are in the back of the car and they sound like they are underwater. How much for new speakers and a iPod player in the car?? Thx for the answers
The speakers behind your rear seats should be 6x9 speakes I'm not sure though. The price range varies though. I say to get a decent pair of speakers it will cost like 50-60 dollars. Check Amazon or OKorder once you know the speaker size.
Q: I have a 50x4 headunit, I also have 4x150rms speakers. Why do people amp there speakers, will it make a difference, why should I do it.
because if your speakers are lets say 150watts RMS total all 4, and our radio is 50watts output, thats about 14watts rms each, 1/3 the wattage the speakers need to be fully powered. also, the amp gives you cleared more indept sound. you cant compair the quality of an amped speaker set to a non amped speaker set.
Q: i have a JVC 180 watt head unit and i want to replace my 2 front speakers (4X6) and i don't know what kind of speaker or how many watts
Any 4x6 speaker you want. The power rating of the speakers will far exceed anything your headunit is capable of outputting (which is about 20 - 23W RMS). Go to the store, listen to as many speakers as you can, pick one out that you like and fits your budget. Make sure the speakers are playing off the same headunit, powered by the same amp, and playing the same song. Compare apples to apples.
Q: I currently have Kicker DS series speakers, 6.5(50rms) in the front and 6x9(75rms) in the back. I have them amplified and I was wondering if I would notice a big difference upgrading to Alpine type r speakers
alpine will sound better but wont take the same beating as a kicker speaker. and kickers will be louder anyhow, ive used the alpine r and s door speakers, sounded awesom but wont take the volume knob as good as other speakers, look into polk and infinity, overall great speakers
Q: I want to get some krk rokit rp5 g2 speakers.
Those speakers have a built in 70 watt amp. Just about all computer speakers do since that 1/10th of a watt you get out the jack isn't going to power anything bigger than headphones. But, those speakers are really overpriced. You could get better sound for less than half the money.
Q: I have a problem with some speakers that I bought. I wanna know how you can connect 4 speakers at the same time cuz it wont let me. Like 2 are ok but the other two dont work. and i like i put the green cables in the two green inputs but it still dont work. what do i do?
first, what are you playing these speaker with?a computer?amplifier?and are these speakers in individual box?what ohms are these speakers?More info. I know speakers have different ohms independence, and when you hook them up in series it increases the ohms .If you hook them up in parallel you decrease the speaker ohms. This might be your problem since you have to match the speaker ohms equal or more to the device that you are using to play the speakers.
Q: can i use old speakers from a stereo and connect them to my new reciver? or do i need special speakers?.Thanks! :)
If your stereo is one unit(all in one) and the speakers are hot wired to that unit, then no. If your stereo speakers and your new receiver are separates, then yes, move the speakers to your receiver. Then set your receiver's speaker setting to large. Real stereo speakers are always the large type.
Q: If the amp isn't clipping but it is rated far less than the speaker, can it still blow the speaker?
There are two factors to look at when powering a speaker. The amount of power and the ability of the amplifier to drive the impedance load the speakers present. The only real issue of under-powering a speaker is the possibility of the amplifier running out of power on dynamic peaks of the music and clipping; sending a distorted signal to the speaker. This can damage ether the speaker or the amplifier if done at extreme levels or for any extended period of time. The other issue is making sure the amplifier is capable of driving the impedance load the speakers are presenting to the amplifier. As impedance rises or drops above or below 8 ohms it puts a demand on the amplifier requiring more current. All speakers impedance will vary with frequency its having to reproduce, some speakers are more demanding then others. Most receivers do a vary poor job of driving wide impedance swings, as many do not use discreet output stages or good quality power supplies. Also some amplifiers will clip harder than others, meaning it can send a very distorted output to the speakers when over-driven. Yamaha amplifiers are one example of this when they clip they clip very hard sending a very distorted signal to the speakers. Tube amplifiers on the other hand clip soft and even when driven into distortion are much less likely to damage speakers. So its important to select a amplifier that can drive the speakers to adequate levels your wanting to achieve and that its able to drive the speakers properly. Q: everything was alright but suddenly a busting sound came from the speakers and no response from speakers after that. the small light is also off even if i switch on the power button of speakers.so what is this? please help me. can this be repaired or i have to buy the new one.
Sounds like you blew your speakers. Check that they are plugged in, and try another outlet. If they don't work then just buy new ones, as repairing speakers would cost more than a new set. Good luck!
Q: I added two stereo speakers to my computer and of course they need more power (electricity) to make them reach their full potential. How do u do that with computer speakers and my added stereo speakers. This is what I'm working with.
Use the stereo receiver that came with the speakers. Get a minijack-to-component audio adepter and connect the component (red/white) audio cables to your receiver's line in jacks. Then set your receiver to that channel. The receiver should have an integral amplifier that will provide ample power to the speakers.
