FAQ:
Q1: Are electronics cheap in Okorder.com?
A: Of course. They are very cheap. The factories provide the goods. One-stop sourcing.
Q2: Why are electronics so cheap in ok order?
A: On ok order they are the lowest price. Because it is a wholesale website and factory provide goods.
Q3: Do all electronics have silicon in them?
A: No but most modern ones do. Older electronics that don't require micro chips don't have to have silicon at all, and their mother boards are made from copper. Silicon is used in micro chips as a semi-conductor in modern electronics but some other semi-metals, like gallium and germanium can also be used. Silicon is just the most common because it is so plentiful.

Q:i cant seem to find any stores that carry this item
online okorder
Q:What is the use of the reader?
find the correct card reader slot and insert the memory card (with the metal node facing down), the memory card can only be inserted in the correct direction,
Q:All my SD cards are coming write protected, I've put tape over the notch and over the slider so that it can't be pushed down, but even the newest empty cards are still protected, so I wondered if my reader could be faulty.
Fairly certain that's a driver problem. And I'm also fairly certain you have an HP. :- You could spin over to your manufacturers website and see if there are updates available for the devices in your computer. If its less than a year old, you should still have a manufacturers warranty and maybe get a CD with the drivers on it. But my professional opinion is that you updated Windows 7, and now the drivers for your card-reader are strewn. So try to update from the Manufacturers website.
Q:I was wonder cos i was thinking of getting a laptop, but i want to know if it have a PCMCIA slot for an exturnal modem or it is not much use of getting it.
A PCMCIA (in reality a CardBus) slot hardware is shoved down your throat as a standard equipment for a laptop just as a floppy drive is shoved down your throat for a desktop. There is no card reader for it the way CompactFlash, SD, etc do. It make sense to get USB external devices instead PCMCIA cards if you have the option to, modem included.
Q:I have a sony cyber shot camara and i need to know what card reader i need for my memorey card
What kind of card do you have? Readers can be either specific to one type of card or there are models that take several different cards. If you only have one camera I'd say buy the one specific to your card.
Q:I tried putting almost all types of cards in it, tried a google search not even a single topic it just wont read anything i put in it, except the floppy disk itself is this some kind of driver problem. Im using a Packard Bell IXtreme E303. I hate this
who still uses floppies?
Q:I want to buy a sandisk card reader, I have the micro sd card but dont have a reader for it, making it useless when its not in use by phone. Where can i buy a not too pricey but safe sd card reader
you can buy sandisk card reader from your market.
Q:do I have to have a card reader in order to upload the pictures onto my computer's hard drive? Or can I simply plug a usb cord into my camera, and upload them that way?(Card has enough internal memory for a few pictures, but I want to take MANY pictures in one outing, so I need card.)
All cameras have USB connectivity, so you don't really need to buy a card reader. But, in order to upload images to your computer, you will probably need to install the software that came with your camera. However, if using a card reader, you won't need to install the software because the computer should recognize it as a removable drive. This makes it easy to transfer images (or any file) to any computer. When you buy a brand new memory card, you will need to format it (check your user manual on how to do this). And, everytime after you upload/transfer all images to your computer (and you want to delete all images from the card) you should then format it again. If you don't format your memory card regularly, then your memory card may become corrupted or develop errors. A 1-2GB memory card is a good capacity, which will allow room for plenty of images and/or movies.
Q:I have a 3.5 bay card reader in my computer with the typical inputs (MS, SD, CF, and so on). It has served me well over the years but I now have a big problem. I recently went out and bought an 2GB SanDisk SD2 card. The card works in my Canon PowerShot A540 as did the normal SD cardshowever, when I go to put it in my card reader, it will not read it. I'm assuming this is because SD2 is a different type of structure or format that the SD slot will simply not read. I know there are the typical portable card readers that will read SD2, but are there any internal (like my 3.5 reader) that will support the SD and SD2 card formats? If I have to I will get a portable type reader, though I don't like them but would like to know if there are any internal ones out there.
I have never heard of an SD2 card and I do not see any references to such a card anywhere else online. There are SD cards and SDHC cards. However, SanDisk's website does not show any 2GB SDHC cards at the moment. SDHC cards can be read in an SDHC card reader, but not an SD card reader. SDHC card readers will read both SDHC cards and SD cards. The difference between SD and SDHC is that SDHC is formatted in FAT32, which allows for higher storage capacities. Looking at the specs for the A540, it looks like it doesn't take SDHC cards, so I have no idea what this SD2 card is that you're speaking of.
Q:1. What is a USB cable?2. What is a Card Reader?3. What is the differences?4. Which one do I need for my camera to upload pictures onto a computer? or would it be best to have both?
I use a card reader. It's a thing that you put the memory card into and then it has a USB plug on it that you plug into your computer. A USB cable is kinda the same. One end plugs into the camera and one end plugs into the computer. I don't think it matters which one you use. Try reading the papers and stuff that came with your camera.
