- The answer is yes. The amount of the lift weight depends on the weight of the counter weights on the back of the crane. There is an indicator (printed or electronic) which indicates the maximum lift based on angle and extension. TexMav
- Q: We see lots of cranes doing some heavy lifting during construction. But how do they get so high up these buildings? And when construction is nearly done, how do they go back down?
- Depends on the building of course. Either a taller crane is brought in to lift them, or they're lifted by helicopter. And sometimes a building effectively builds itself, and the crane moves up with the construction platform after being constructed at ground level. Will still need a helicopter to remove it of course.
