- Q: My great grandparents' kamon was the crane and I was thinking of getting it as a tattoo for a symbol of my family. However, I'm not sure which it is. I've bought a book on Japanese Crests especially for this, and saw a couple of crane crests but was wondering if there's an origami crane kamon? And if there is, what is the meaning of it?Thank you very much for the help in advance!

- Q: how is a tall crane constructed? how can they put the crane on top of its tall body frame?
- They first construct the top of crane on the ground with help from other mobile cranes. This includes the long horizontal part with the operator's cab, and the concrete counterweight. this is then placed on a climber, with which the crane kind of builds and climbs itself to the necessary height. Every vertical section of the crane is placed in the climber. When the piece is in place, the climber climbs to the top of piece from where the next vertical piece is placed and so on. You can see how a crane is constructed in the website I've cited below:

- How To String Paper Cranes
- Q: How do they get big cranes up on skyscrapers for renovation? and how do they bring it down? And where they keep the cranes after done?
- Renovation of skyscrapers typically uses a crane, if it has one, that is built up the side of the building, resting on the ground but fastened to the frame periodically for bracing. Tower cranes are built in sections and assembled in place with smaller cranes. To a large extent, renovation of skyscrapers is done from the inside - modifying some of the existing elevators, rather than doing anything from the outside, breaking through the walls to get stuff inside.

- Q: Where i live i get a damn lot of these come in my house.... I usually just leave them unless there are too many. This was before i was told that they are in fact one of the most venomous creatures on the planet. I laughed, but then was told the same by a friend.Im now Little worried about them coming near me. I understand they have no ability to sting but still... Should i worry about them flying around my house? I was thinking if i were to squash one, doesn't that mean the venom is now on my hand?!Are they really the most venomous creatures on earth? Or am i making a mountain out of a molehill? Thanks
- It is a complete myth. Confusion can arise because there are three different animals commonly called daddy-long-legs - spiders of the family Pholcidae, harvestmen (which are arachnids, but not spiders), and crane flies (which are insects). The myth about 'daddy-long-legs' being extremely venomous was originally applied to pholcid spiders, perhaps because they often kill highly venomous species like the black widow. Because the name is shared by harvestmen and crane flies, the myth is now often applied to them too. It is false in all cases. Whilst pholcid spiders are venomous, their venom is far too mild to be dangerous to humans - it causes nothing more than a slight tingling sensation. Harvestmen and crane flies have no fangs or venom whatsoever, and are completely harmless.
- Q: i have a 100 ton american crawler crane. how do i calculate the psf, for this equipment.
- Not sure what you are asking exactly... Are you saying that you have a crane with a capacity of 100 tons and you want to know the pressure on the soil where the crane is positioned? In this case, you take the capacity (in pounds) plus the weight of the crane (in pounds) then divide their sum by the area of the tracks on the crane (in square feet). This will result in pounds per square foot or psf as you wrote above. These are example estimates, they may not be anywhere near the correct answer, this is simply how to do the calculation. Assumed Capacity 100 ton = 200,000 lbs. Assumed Weight 105 ton = 210,000 lbs. Assumed Area of Track = 200 square feet Note: 1 U.S. ton = 2,000 pounds = 2,000 lbs. 410,000 lbs / 200 square feet = 2,050 psf There's a start, now you just need to find out how much it actually weighs and how long and wide the tracks are to get the area of the track on the ground. I hope that answers the question you were asking.
