- Q: I just finished knitting a wool scarf that is ribbed throughoutIt took me a long time to finish and I am nervous about blocking itI don't want to ruin the scarf by making a mistakeShould I block it? How could that affect the look of the scarf? I do not have any special blocking equipment, not even an ironIs there any way to block the scarf without using special equipment? Since the knitting is all ribbing, would the blocking possibly make some of my uneven stitches look better? I have never blocked anything before and would love any tips.

- Q: we are spending a lot of money tiring to heat our apartment, can it be due to lack of insulation?
- Your home’s energy bills are determined by two factors: 1The severity of temperature extremes (hot or cold) in summer and winter for the area in which you live2How well your home keeps the temperature you want IN and keeps the temperature extremes outside your home OUTEnergy efficiency starts with insulating your attic, the area just under your roof Radiant barrier foil reflects 97% of radiant heat (either keeping it in during the winter or keeping it out during the summer)It is the least-expensive energy improvement you can make in your home or apartment.
