- Q: I just got a dyson ball vacuum. What happens if it runs over a nail or something metal, will it screw it up? Or can it handle it just fine?

- Q: I've been working on a couple projects in one room in my house. The room really needs to be vacuumed but there is aquarium gravel scattered around as well as a bunch of tiny screws. I have a shark vacuum. There's no threat of puncturing a bag because this vacuum doesn't use a bag - it uses a canister. I could easily empty the canister and then go over the floor with the hose. I'm wondering if it's an ok idea though because I don't want to damage anything in the vacuum. Occasionally, my battery powered aquarium vacuum will suck up a couple pieces of gravel, they'll get stuck, stop the vacuum, and I have to get them out for the vacuum to work again. I don't know how house vacuums work, but I don't want that to happen. If there aren't any mechanical components to be damaged, then I guess the only other worry would be the hose, but the hose on this vacuum feels pretty sturdy, and I would just be vacuuming tiny gravel and tiny, corroded screws - nothing sharp like tacks or nails. What do you guys think?
- The aquarium vacuum cannot be compared to a regular vacuum cleaner. The motor is smaller as well as the vacuum pump. Also the particles flow through the aquarium vacuum pump where as the regular vacuum cleaners create a vacuum in the container that catches the dust and debris and there is usually a filter between the container and the intake of the vacuum pump that blocks most of the dust and debris. Make sure you check that filter before you start and when you have finished the vacuuming.
- Q: Hello,I am looking for best vacuum cleaner. I have both carpet hardwood floors in my home. Also a month old baby. Which ones are the best in terms of efficiency and low maintenance. whether it be the central vac, or the standard ? my budget is flexible as I know you get what you pay for. Thanks for your time.
- We use a Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus. It has a hepa filter and is bagless; it works great on our hardwood floors and carpeting AND our youngest has asthma and it doesn't bother her by kicking up the dust/pet dander.
- Q: I am in a market for a new vacuum cleaner. I have selected two models and there are two main differences between them: price and HEPA filtration. One with sealed HEPA costs $200 more than the one using HEPA 12 filtration. We have two dogs and no one in our family suffers from allergies. Would sealed HEPA filtration justify spending $200 more on a vacuum? Thanks.
- Well the sealed would keep in more allergens and dust. The non sealed would would suck in allergens but spit them back into the air or at least most of them. I would recommend checking with people you know that you would consider inviting into your house and ask them if they are allergic to dust or allergens. Now i would recommend the shark navigator to you because it costs just under 200 dollars and has anti allergen technology to lock in dust and never loses suction. Now what they say on the commercials are true our family owns one and it is true. i have seen an improvement in my allergies. it also has free shipping and handling.so i would hope this helps.bye
- Q: I want a vacuum cleaner that will pickup pet and human hair and not clog up. Which one of these would be the best?
- I have tried many vacuum cleaners over the years even Rainbow and I keep coming back to the cheapest Bissell from wal-mart. It does a great job on pet hair and for $40 you can replace it ever couple years if you need to and still feel like you have gotten you moneys worth. I have 8 dogs and I have had the last one for 4 years now and its still going strong. Good luck.
- Q: Why are vacuums so loud?
- Vacuums are silent. Vacuum cleaners are loud because an electric motor is spinning at thousands of revolutions per minute driving an air pump and forcing air to be pushed into a restrictive area, a filter bag often, and if you have a beater bar, there is a motor driving that also and there is friction there too,... in both places.
- Q: What do you think about the vacuums with the steam cleaners, like the Shark for an example?if you can provide a website along with your answer, that would be greatThanks
- I okorder / Hope that helps!
- Q: The best?
- It relies upon how plenty you pay for it. I propose you do slightly analyze on manufacturers and think of approximately which of them seem respectable. My own adventure with a robotic vacuum is which you will desire to no longer apply it to stairs (notwithstanding all the manufacturers will variety) because of the fact I positioned it on the stairs and all the dirt and stuff got here out of it and went all over the floor.
- Q: I got this book on spiritual housecleaning and it says to remove any object that may be associated with the devil - and I have a dirt devil brand vacuum cleaner - is this evil and do I need to remove it from my home? The only thing I do with it is vacuum the floor - and I don't have any other use for it.
- I'm afraid they are evil, but dust and grime and not vacuuming is more evil so on balance you should keep it and be clean.
- Q: It is a small gear that goes on the brushroll which the belt attaches to turn the roll. The vacuum is a shark navigator nv22 and have looked on several site but all I come up with is filter parts. Can someone point me in the right direction to were I could by individual parts if there is any
