Press fitting system joins pipe without welding or bolting. The components fit by crimping through the use of a special pressing tool. An O-ring that is inserted in the fitting ends of the pipe ensures a leak-proof connection. Press fitting system is the trend of pipeline industry. It is widely used in cold and hot water supply, heating supply, fire protection, medicinal gas, industrial petroleum pipeline system etc.

- Q: I'm trying to wire up a dual display pyrometer as an exhaust gas temperature (EGT) gauge. It needs to meter 1200F (~600C) to about 2000F (~1100C) and be able to be permanently attached to the exhaust.
- Just dry fit everything first. Get the pipe up to about where you want your hole and mark where it terminates. Now drill your hole and make sure everything lines up. Once it all fits mark the pipes and fittings with marker. Now when you glue just line up the markings and you should be good. That pipe is easy to work with.

- galvanized pipe means just that it is coated with galvanize to help keep it from rusting. blk pipe has no coating inside and a blk finish outside, normally used for natural gas piping installations. wall thickness is either schedule 40, or 80. 40 is the standard 80 is a much thicker wall used for high pressure applications. the 1inch pipe and the 1inch nipples are the same wall thickness. the threads on both all taper inwards. by drilling a hole in galvanized pipe you will expose the inside wall of the hole to water,gas,oil, or what ever you are using the piping syatem for. therefore you are defeating the porpous of the galvanizd coating. hope this helped

It is code that a pressure regulator be installed on the water main. Most are installed on the outside of the house, as a precaution, in case of catastrophic failure. Pressure above 60 psi can cause vibration in the line. They only last 10-15 years.

- Q: I want to move my receptacle pipe for the toilet bowl. There is a lead pipe with an elbow and then it enters into a cast iron pipe with a hub.i want to keep the cast iron hub but would like to put a 45 degree elbow and use the existing lead pipe to keep it 13 inches from the wall.
