There is different threads, but the most common are pipe thread, if I remember right is 11 threads per inch. Then there is compression fittings that have a finer thread. Then there is hose fittings which is coarser than pipe thread. It'll help if we had a description of what you are doing.

Horse racing gets a bad rap mostly from breakdowns, but people do not realize that only a very small percentage of horses are fatally injured. They see one race with a fatal breakdown and wallah, it sets a bad image for the whole sport. Truth is, the breakdown of Eight Belles during this years Kentucky Derby, is the only fatality in the history of the race. This sport certainly needs more media coverage. The Breeders Cup being televised on ABC, then switching to ESPN was not in good taste IMO. When the Superbowl comes around, it gets plenty of media attention well in advance. I wish they would give Horse racing the same respect.

I've got the same things in the building I work in. There Hard wired smoke fire detectors. The red light tells you the system is active. The other smoke alarm on the ceiling is probably a backup in case the building looses power. NOTE: Carbon Monoxide is heavy.The detectors are usually located near the floor.
