Their sims will not work in any other type of phone like Att or Tmobile types. You are pretty much stuck with their lineup. Unless you use Boost cdma. There are TWO Boost mobiles. The Boost cdma is a Boost without walkie talkie or sim on the Sprint network. Sprint owns both Boost mobiles. The good thing about the cdma network is that it is generally faster and more reliable then Boost iden and you can use any Sprint phone after you first activate with a Boost cdma phone then transfer the account to the Sprint phone (You CAN'T open a Boost cdma account with a Sprint phone at the beginning.). Boost cdma recently dropped their prices so that they too have a nationwide $50 unlimited everything plan now. You can buy an older Boost cdma phone, a hot Sprint phone, call 1-877-TLK-MORE , ask for Unlimited by Boost (cdma) ,pay $15 to activate, either port your old number or get a number from the closest area to your area code (they only have phone numbers for thirteen states ). - Mythbusters is not a certified testing facility. The people who tell you they don't interfere do not know what they are talking about. I've actually seen it. I had someone with a phone on during taxi, and it buzzed in my headset. It also made the ILS needles erratic, which is very dangerous. You see, cellphones are not built to TSO certification, which is what things designed to be in aircraft are. Two cellphones of the same exact model could potentially have one interfere and the other one not. So, testing one may work fine, but another one might not. There is no way to test all of them. For the people who use them in their corporate jets, good luck to you. I hope you don't crash into a mountain because of it. It's still illegal, under FCC rules. If you are so rich, why not buy a phone made for your jet? I'm glad I don't have to fly those guys around.

- For most cell (mobile) phones the answer is no. In the UK the cell phone company 3 offers a skype mobile phone that provides free skype to skype calls, along with the regular cell phone features at regular rates. In the USA you can load a skype application on the iPhone, iTouch, Nokia N800/N810 and others. Skype calls on these units do NOT go over the cell phone network, but rather use a local (free) wifi hotspot. I use the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype ( F1PP000GN-SK ) from amazon ($129.35), it works fine if you have a local free wifi hotspot (or Boingo). Out of these areas it is dead.

If you are not purchasing the phone directly from T-Mobile, be certain that it is a T-Mobile phone because even though my phone is practically brand new at less than two months old, I can not use all of the features since T-Mobile took over. I do not need the newest/fanciest phones, but I can tell you that I absolutely love Nokia phones. I had/have a Nokia 6103 and I think it is great. The Nokia 6085 is what I have now-it is supposed to be a newer version of the 6103, and they are indeed very similar. T-Mobile has the 6103 but not the 6085, but they do have a Nokia 6086. I would recommend any of these phones. They have voice recorder, camera, video camera, bluetooth, etc. I have them customized in ways that I just can not do with my husband's phone (a Motorola). It might take some time to figure out how to customize it and what settings you want, but you truly can make it YOUR phone. I hope you find the perfect phone! Mine would be, if I could just get a couple features to workthey are supposed to be working out the kinks related to the merger.
