- Kendall; with no exception that I am aware of, the day of reasonable expectations of profits in flipping died about 6 mo ago. And I have NEVER ever been a proponent of flipping. I always suggest, have access to lots of cash flow and buy, fix up and keep. YOUR equity will, less drastically than a spec buyer for inflation, rise and fall a bit but it will absolutely rise again. I suggest having a backup plan to pay for the mortgages and buy 2 houses a mo and when you have 24 or more, put those LLCs into a REIT and back into a public shell.

- Usually both. First the drill is used to remove the decay, and hand excavators, too. Then it's not just a question of removing the decay and slapping the filling in. The cavity preparation is shaped so as to hold the filling better. It would nice if they didn't need the drill, wouldn't it?
- Q:I am purchasing 2 1/2 acres of swamp for all practical purposes.I want to dig a 1/2 to 1 acre lake 7 foot deep to use the sand (this is south florida) to make high and dry ground on the rest of the property. I am trying to decide if I need an excavator or a large loader and a mud hog to pump out the water as I am sure it will start to fill the hole as soon as I make it I would think. I am just not sure how you would get a smooth bottom with an excavator.Any Ideas?
- Take the advice on whether you need permits or even if you can disturb a wetland in your particular area. As far as a machine, an excavator can build it's own work pad if the ground is boggy and simply work backward off the pad, digging as deep as you want. A good operator can make the pond bottom just as smooth as you want it. From the description of the terrain, a rubber tired loader or even a traxcavator would be stuck all the time and a pond bottom with spin out holes from tires or tracks isn't going to be exactly smooth. The only advangage a Hydra Hoe has is it's extendable boom but it still can't reach across a one acre pond. A decent size excavator will do the job in half the time.

- What type of gold mining? Alluvial gold mining or Hard rock gold mining? I'll assume alluvial mining. You need an excavator bulldozer to strip off the overburden. You need an excavator trucks to load / transport the gravels to your wash-plant. If you are operating in as large a scale as you appear to be, your wash-plant will consist of a hopper feeding a trommel feeding a series of sluices. You'll need plentiful supply of water. You'll need a balance to measure the weight of your gold. You'll also need some honest people around you who you can trust not to steal the gold! There are all sorts of tricks with stealing gold such as swallowing it then recovering it from the other end!!

- too many things you can not do with a gradall . if you are good with an excavator you can do just about any job that involves dirt .you can also get into places with an excavator that you can not with a gradall
- Q:My kids broke the key on my Cat 380c excavator, but since it is a gray market machine im not sure if its fixable. Is the starting cylinder interchangeable? will the key be the same type? and my last question is since it was imported from Japan it doesn't have a us title so i dont have any proof of ownership so will the dealership still try to get the proper key or will think think its stolen?
- You will not need any type of proof of ownership to get a new key. They do not individually key cat machines or most any construction or ag equipment. Just call or go to a dealer and get a key they can look it up by application. It may be helpful to write down the serial number of the machine and take it with you in case there is a serial number code break.
- Q:I am a mechanic but I have very little knowledge of hydraulics. The following hydraulic responses are way too slow: bucket movement and the right hand side track movement. The slew/swing motor has no power. I am wondering if these functions are all fed from the same pump and it could just be a pump adjustment?? I know the pump was recently replaced with a cat dealer reman. unit. Please help ASAP.
- The hydraulic pump provides the pressurised oil to the control valves, which have solenoids on them that allow oil flow through them when power is applied, which depending on application makes a hyd cylinder or hyd drive motor operate. The handles on either side of the operaters chair have micro switches inside them that power the solenoids on the valves. The valve body assemblys, or sandwich valves they are called, are able to be pressure ajusted independently to make more or less movement to whatever it operates. On the bottom of the valve theres a cover for the valve spool, the allen wrench fitting in the base is the pressure ajuster. BUT DO NOT ATTEMPT TO AJUST PRESSURE ON ANY PART OF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM WITHOUT A TRIPLE PRESSURE REG GAUGE. PRESSURES IN SYSTEM EXCEED 3000 PSI AND IF INCORRECTLY AJUSTED COULD CAUSE A PRESSURE COMPONENT TO FAIL AND HURT OR KILL YOUR SELF OR SOMEONE ELSE

- you hve a plate in the front on the outside, remove the plate and you will see a grease fitting, pump grease into the fitting until you reach desired tension. aint sure what the measurment is on it but dont get to tight or youll do more harm than good. track should droop a couple inchs i would think. good luck
