Usage/Applications of Single Bubble Foil

This product is laminated by the aluminum foil and bubble. It is the better product in the environmental protection, thermal insulation thermal insulation. The outermost PET has good abrasion resistance and high strength tear resistance. The bubble between the aluminum foil not only has a strong moisture, resistance oxygen, sound insulation, drop noise function, but it is also has very good reflective inverse heat, blocking ultraviolet.

Q:I gutted the room and now would like to rebuild. One side of the room slants (it's the roof) and the other side of the room is a dormer (all low ceilings).I want to insulate the ceiling but have no ridge vents so no moving air as someone mentioned I should have. I want to install foam channels to keep the insulation away from the roof but not sure if this is a good idea without the ridge vents. I will have a vent to the outside installed on the very top of the roof however and the small attic space is open all the way through the other two upstairs rooms and I will add another roof vent on that end of the house. I will only be able to install 3 inch insulation but that's better than none at all. I live in the northeast and was told if the job isn't done right I can get ice jams in winter. Also I don't see any way to drill ridge vents. would it be ok to just install the styrofoam channels and insulate then sheet rock or am I asking for trouble? Thanks in advance for any help.
Suggestion: install the insulation with the foam channels but leave the center section (roof ridge area) open from end to end. At each end you can install a static vent or an active one. Depending on the amount of space you have you may be able to install a power vent.If you can send me a diagram with measurements I can give you a more definitive answer.
Q:How do I adequately insulate my attic roof to make the space a bit more habitable in the winter? The floors to the living area below are already insulated and we have a gable mounted fan which is great in the summer. I am thinking of adding insulation to the roof with baffles underneath for air circulation through the soffit vents. Am I anywhere near an idea that may work?
you live in the conditioned air box! you can't change your wall insulation, just add more to the ceiling. don't block roof vents as they are as important in winter as summer. if you have an unfinished basement, you may want to consider sealing off the joist with plastic or tyvek depending on your conditions ( north or south ). most bang for the buck is ceiling insulation.
Q:Help please, this home had a water pipe from meter brake in the basement as it was unoccupied/empty, the owner/builder replaced all the drywall, insulation, flooring, carpet, tile, roof, windows, hot water tank, furnace, bathroom and kitchen cabinets, new paint on all, basement ceiling was spray painted black (to hide something or to seal it?). the neighbor says the home was gutted and mold tested three times, its completely redone basically a new home inside, feedback please, it "looks" great
Hi there. I suggest that you require a home inspection, a mold test and termiite treatment before buying the house. If it was tested, the seller should be able to provide the results. Anytime that there is severe water damage, mold and termite issues usually follow. It is better to be sure that everything is okay before you buy the house.
Q:No insulation was installed under roof of my 2 story home. Im not rich but looking for info on installing about 450 ft. up there.
Well not sure what he question actually is. It is a good idea to do that. Going to any Home Depot or Lowes will help. You can give them the info you have and they can tell you coast and products that are available. Hope this helps.
Q:is it safe to put insulation in the corners where the roof meets the wall in attics?fiberglass in corners?
No it is not EVER safe! Roofing material needs to breathe. Anywhere that insulation is applied to the underside of the roof deck the roofing material will warp and then leak. You have to have a cushion of air between the underside of the decking and the insulation
Q:How do I find roofers who are specialised in protection against invaders from outer space. I called 10 and they said they would call me back, but no one did so far. It must be really complicated.
Don't fall for this SCAM! Everyone knows that lining your roof with aluminum foil acts as an antenna. Making it easier for those little gray bastards to track your every move. And most roofers are in cahoots with those outer space nar-do-wells This myth/propaganda was originally disseminated by the Inter-Galatic Agency for Human Anal Probing (AgHAP). I first became aware of this little plot after dealing with roofers for many years as a GC. After only a brief conversation with anyone on a roofing crew and you can only assume there are from another plant.
Q:we have liq. ammonia storage tank (capacity 40000 ton)having double wall & suspended deck.liq. NH3 stored at temp -33 degree cent. insulation (form ) being provided to annular space (wall ) but not on top roof . can you explain for exact reason.with regardsanvar shaikh
Insulation is less necessary on the roof. The ammonia is mostly a liquid, and a liquid would absorb heat rapidly from tank walls. Above the liquid is vapor, and vapor absorb heat much less rapidly than liquid does, so insulation is less important there.
Q:I have a valley between two roof peaks that gets a huge icicle every year. I know this area is not insulated very well. In the house it is a dead area between two rooms. I would like to get someone over here and blow it full of insulation (couple calls in, awaiting response). In the meantime, I do have heat tapes installed on the roof in this area. It's a 50' run, zigzagged and some goes into gutter and the downspout.I am paranoid of fire hazards and have a real problem leaving these tapes plugged in. That being said, I realize snow is all around and water is flowing in this case. Is it safe to leave these plugged in?Is there a time I should be unplugging? Will this help my icicle problem?Serious replies only please. I prefer from a licensed contractor/insulator.Thanks in advance.
James M has a good answer- Your problems (as mine) are found in the attic - or below the roof surface. If the roof is warmed from within the house, the snow will melt daily and re-freeze at night. Your task is to keep the roof COLD by insulating the eaves from warm air. Also the attic space. The attic air should rise to a vent in gables or along the roof ridge... then exit. The interior temperature should be chilly at all times with snow on the roof- 40degF or below. In my case (maybe yours?), the warmth comes from the Top of the exterior walls - the top plate is very near the roof- and heat from the living space travels upward inside the wall to this support... a LINE of snow melt is visible where the wall meets the roof. I need to reinsulate the entire exterior to get control of roof snow melt... or visit the roof with a snow rake after heavy snow.
Q:Without loft insulation ,the roof space is full of air.Why does this not keep the heat in?
The warm air that collects in the attic is in close contact with the roof, heat is conducted through the roof and lost to the atmosphere.
Q:fixing my room up and it gets hot in summer so i want to put some good insulation in the roof so what could i use?
How much access do you have to the attic, or the space below the roof? Are you going to be replacing the ceiling of your room and adding insulation from below, or getting into the attic and adding insulation above your room from there? If there is a large attic space above your room, and not much ventilation, sometimes you can cool the living space by simply installing some ventilation grilles to the roof to vent off hot air from the attic.
