- Q: Salt doesn't really make any different when cleaning infact I think it makes more dried skin to get stick on the bar. My side piercing is fine but the one closest to my eye is painful when pushed or touched I think this is because I accidentally sleep on it without realising. It's red but it has no lump around the piercing is it infected or is it just trying to heal?
- The reason why the earring will stick to the skin and dry up because you're using too much salt. Cleaning it with warm sea salt water is the best way to clean your piercing, especially soaking it in a bowl for 5-10 min. Make-up wipes have alcohol in them, which irritates piercings, just stick to salt. H2Ocean is great, it's a little pricey but it has the right salinity and other ingredients essential for healing tissues. It's not infected, it's just irritated because you slept on it. An infection will have pain, lots of swelling, dark yellowish pus, and throbbing. Give it a sea salt soak and the redness and soreness will go away.
- Q: i got my scaffold piercing 4 days ago and it still hurtsit usually doesn't hurt when nothing touches it, but then with the lightest touch of a finger or anything else, it hurts badly.i just cleaned it with h2Ocean and a q-tip and now it hurts really bad. :|should it not be hurting by now? or is this normal.? if its normal.. how long until it heals/stops hurting like a *****. hah
- industrial is one of the WORST and most painful piercings to get... believe me.. i didnt finish mine cuz it was so bad. it'll take a while, longer than a normal piercing but in time it will be fine.. it might still get sensitive once in a while too even after it heals , but it does take quite a long time to heal. just keep cleaning it and don't let it get infected.. - I'd give it a decent amount of time before changing it. They take awhile to heal, often times for most between 6-12 months, but for most it's closer to the 12. So I'd give it a few months at least, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask your piercer about when would be the best time. Often times too they'll help you with changing jewelry jewelry insertion for little to no charge, so you may want to do that. I've had mine pierced for about 12 yrs, and actually, I still have the original bar in that it was pierced with, but I remember it was quite a while before I felt comfortable taking it all the way out to clean.

- You can have both done in the same day if you can handle the pain and shock. Get the industrial done first, and if you still feel OK afterwords, you can get your other ear done by the same piercer. Talk to him/her and let them know what you want to do before you start. If you feel like you need to wait after the industrial, wait at least a day before getting the second piercing. It's all about what you can handle.
