Q: I'm trying to understand a problem in my physics book. The problem is this:A person is pulling on a rope, that is connected to a pulley on the ceiling. The rope then goes to a box with a pulley on it, and then up to the ceiling where the rope is connected (to the ceiling).The rope and pulleys are massless and frictionless.The book lists three forces (tension forces) going up and one weight force pulling down.My question is, why isn't there another force pulling against the tension of the rope from the guy pulling the rope?: well, the person is going to have to pull on the rope, and that will be another force that is not pictured in the book. if you think about it, when a rope is under tension, each end is getting pulled, like a tug of war, otherwise it just moves toward the other force. When the forces are balanced, the rope is in tension and does not move. The forces pictured in the book are tension provided by the weight. The person will have to add a tension force downward to compensate.

Q: On Wednesday day I'm planning to get this done (the top piercing). I've been thinking about it for a while now really want it.What problems can I have with this piercing?How long does it take to heal ect?Thanks =): i've not had scaffolding but i've got a wide range of cartilage piercings and they take about 12weeks to heal... i would just say be careful not to catch it and keep it clean. good luck :)

Q: I got my scaffold piercing 6 days ago, with titanium, and it was fine until yesterday.I had a couple of nights out and might have knocked it a few times, but yesterday it was swollen, red, throbbing and very painful. There is no liquid coming from it. It seems to have got worse today.I have been following the aftercare advice and cleaning it several times a day with rock salt solution and (up until yesterday) savlon antiseptic spray. Is it just irritated or is it infected? How long should I wait before I go to the doctor? If it is infected, will I have to take it out or just take antibiotics?Thanks!: It's irritated. If it was infected, it would be oozing green or yellow gunk:) If it gets to that point, go to the doctor. Until then, just treat is regularly with salt solution:) Hope this helped!

Q: by scaffolding ?: I'm guessing it is a reference to large breasts. But I could be wrong.

Q: I really want to get one done and I would like it if someone could tell me how badly does it really hurt? During and after. I know everybody has different pain thresholds but on average? I'm just nervous to get it done but really want another piercing on my ears. I have my lobes and a cartilage on my right ear. How easy is it to clean? rate in numbers as well as a description. Thanks.: my experience was easy and fast. it was the next day waking up that kills you! keep in mind that its thick cartilage, but it is really worth it. you'll get used to it by like day 3 or 4 but and tug or pull will remind you of the pain. i recommend it!

Q: I know the ivy sort of glues itself to whatever surface with little sticky pads so that will take care of itself on the back of my house but can I use the existing Ivy for the wisteria to grab onto and climb up or will the wisteria be too heavy and pull the ivy down? I'd rather avoid having to build something for the wisteria to wrap itself around. Any suggestions? Thanks! : ): The wisteria will climb on anything and everything it can get it's tendrils on. But are you sure you want it on your ivy? Wisteria is the most aggressive grower,and will overtake the ivy, choking it out. As a matter of fact it's not the kind of plant to have close to your house. I know,the blooms are pretty and all but the rest of the plant is a holy terror on your siding,shingles,etc. If you still want to plant it near your house, choose a spot well clear of the power lines that supply your electricity.

Q: Okay, quick question. I dropped into a couple of piercing studios yesterday to inquire about getting a scaffold done. Both places informed me that it's not a good idea to have it pierced with a bar straight off, as the pressure from the jewellery combined with the swelling when first pierced can seriously slow down the healing rate. Is this true? The second place said they will pierce both holes with rings, and these can be changed to a bar after around 6 to 8 weeks.Is this the best option? Q: improper design of formwork and scaffolding, not adequate braces and supports, improper handling, corrosion of material is several factor of formwork and scaffolding failure. it is estimated that more than 3000 accidents involving falls from scaffolds and 30 fatalities: Improper assembly seems to be a big one. Workers often neglect to install the internal diagonal from upper corner to opposite lower corner when it comes to scaffolding. Formwork usually fails by inadequate bracing at the bottom as hydrostatic pressure builds. This can be mitigated to some extent by allowing the concrete to set up a bit before pouring the next layer. For earth formwork, you have to be real careful about expansive clay becoming saturated and overwhelming the bracing as it expands.
