- Q: how much does a scaffold/industrial piercing cost in the US????i really want one. i know it'll probably hurt.do i have to go to a tattoo/piercing place to get it?i live in europe and here it costs 70 euros which is like $105ish. don't want to pay that much.
- It really depends on the place. I spent $55 on mine, plus tip of course. But you have to call up the place you plan on going and ask them because all studio's fees are different.
- Q: Okay, I really really want to get the scaffold piercing done. But what are your stories like? What does it feel like? What do you have to do when its done? How do you clean it? I just need help, im like really excited to get it done, but I'm not sure on all of the safety standards yet.
- It doesn't hurt that much getting pierced. For me, the very top whole just got warm, the second one hurt a bit but completely bearable. It's going to be sore and swollen for about two weeks, fairly sore for another month, and iffish sore after that for months. Like after 3 months it will start feeling a lot better, not being so sore and everything. but something it'll decide to be gay and just flare up and it will be sore all over again and feel like it's a week old. They are very tender so you need to care for it like a newborn (: they take about 5 months to over a year to heal. It's a industrial so it usually leans towards a year because not only is it two piercings, but they are connected with a bar. so if one side gets hurt, so does the other. it's like a relationship! lolll. the higher up the cartilage your go the longer it takes and most industrial wholes at the top are reallyy high up there, so yeah it's going to take a longg time to heal. sea salt soaks for cleaning! (: Oh and you'll experience crusties they are pretty annoying. don't get too carried away at getting rid of them, just pick them off when your cleaning it or when in the shower.

- I have been a Psychologist for nearly 20 years...and I have never heard this term.
- Q: Everybody calls it either one, i want the one that goes across the top of your ear. Would it be safer to have two helix done instead of putting the bar straight in and getting the actual piercing or should i get two helix and put a bar in once it has healed? i would ask the piercer to line the two up. ive heard that industrails go wrong alot if a bar is put right in.
- As long as the bar's the correct length (long enough to accomodate a little bit of swelling, but not too long), and you have a good piercer, you shouldn't have a problem. Getting two and then changing to a bar later also costs twice as much money :P

- Q: On my blackberry so bare with me, I got my scaffold pierced on monday, everything fine, monday night I saw a lil blood clot scab thing...being an idiot I picked it, since then its non stop bled on and off, its now wednesday and its bleeding heavily, I don't know what to do, it soaks up pads of tissue in minuets.Anyone have any suggestions? - Did you try peroxide? Put some on a cotton ball and clean around the piercing. If this does not go away within two days and the bleeding persists your body may be rejecting the metal from your skin. This will cause the peircing to eventually migrate out. Go back to the piercer and see what they say.

- Q: I'm wanting a scaffold piercing so i can wear it with a bar or 2 rings. Could i get it PIERCED with the 2 rings to begin with or do i have to have a bar for the first few weeks/months?
- Generally a Scaffold piercing is pierced with a needle and a bar runs through both piercings. You can get it done with BCR's, however it would be much more difficult to align the piercings up because of the curvature of the rings. Also the Scaffold can be pierced with PTFE or BIOPLAST, these are both lightweight and flexible and will take the pressure off of the piercing. You can also have the scaffold done with 2 separate Barbells, but the most common way is with one long Scaffold bar. These are usually around 38mm long and 1.6mm thick. Cartilage piercings can take quite a while to heal, anything from 12 weeks to a year to completely heal. If in any doubt, talk to your piercer first about your options.

- Q: So I've had my 14g industrial for about 5 months now and would like to change it to something else and I got curious about what kind of jewelry I could possibly use with this piercing. Like can I use labrets, tragus, helix or plain stud with rounded backs or the same gauge? I've tried looking it up, but I can't seem to find anything.
- Tragus and helix are types of piercings, not jewelry. If something is marketed as a tragus stud, helix stud, etc. it's low quality and should be avoided. High quality body jewelry is very versatile, there are a few basic styles of jewelry that are essentially used for all piercings (straight barbell, curved barbell, circular barbell, labret, rings). You will more or less be limited to straight barbells for industrial piercings. Of course there are an endless number of different ends you can choose from. Keep in mind after only 5 months your industrial is likely still healing, they can take upwards of a year to fully heal. If healing is going well and you really want to have the jewelry changed I'd suggest having it done by a reputable professional piercer.
