Q: Is there any reason why you shouldn't?
I think that depends on the application and how you want your floor to look. They tend to be about 2 thick and wide (which is good for a scaffold). But most flooring is only 3/4 thick. If you have a way to resaw them that might be good. When I was a kid (1965) I worked in a factory with a wood floor and the boards were 2 thick and about 8 wide. This was a good floor when the factory was built about 1920. Not so good these days. In the right setting they could be very interesting and decorative especially if you can leave the old paint and marks on them.
Q: I had my scaffolding piercing done on tuesday (now sunday) and it is still really painful and sore. But my main concern is that the skin under the bar looks like it's being pushed down and the skin is growing around the bar? Is this bad?
Yes it is bad if I looks as if it has the skin growing around it. I would see your piercer about that.
Q: I got my scaffolding piercing today, inevitably it's sore, but do i clean it like you would clean normal piercings with salt water?also how long before i can turn the bar?and how long before i can change the bar?Plus. it hurt so much haha
do no longer rotate it and end utilising hydrogen peroxide in basic terms use heat water blended with sea salt or anti-bacterial cleansing soap(dial),saline answer(touch purifier),h20ocean piercing spray discovered at hottopic. you are able to turn the bar to scrub it to get the different area clean yet never rotate it. it's going to make the piercing healing technique alot slower and it ought to reason issues.
Q: is it safe to get an industrial/scaffold and weaving piercing at the same time?
It's not SUPER dangerous, but I wouldn't recommend getting them at the same time.
Q: I have already got a cartilage piercing, and I was considering getting a scaffold bar. I don't mind pain, but soon as it was in an unusual place, I was just a little bit curious.
it wont hurt anymore than the piercing you already have probable, buuuut the long bar makes it easier to catch it and irritate the piercing, so just be careful, and youll be okay!
Q: I got my scaffolding piercing yesterday (a bar through the cartilage) and when i woke up this morning there was quite a lot of blood, i mean like there was big clumps of it around the holes. I've cleaned it up and it seems to look okay and it isn't any more painful than when i got it done yesterday. Is this normal? Thanks (:
well when i got my lip pierced idk if this is the same thing but when i woke up the next morning there was blood on my pillow, my face, and running down my neck and now its fine just be sure to clean it every day and it should be fine
Q: A 75kg painter stands on a 5.5m long uniform plank resting on a scaffold. If the plank's mass is 20kg , how close to the left end of the plank can he stand without tipping the plank? ( The scaffold supports are 2.5m apart, and the plank extends beyond the scafold supports, 1.5m on each end.)
The mass of the plank on the left side of the scaffold is: M? = (20 kg) × (1.5 m) / (5.5 m) = 5.45 kg The distance between the scaffold and the center of mass on the left side is: L? = (1.5 m) / 2 = 0.75 m So the torque of the plank on the left side is: T? = (5.45 kg)×(0.75 m) = 4 kgm The mass of the plank on the right side of the scaffold is: M? = (20 kg) × ((5.5 m) - (1.5 m)) / (5.5 m) = 14.5 kg The distance between the scaffold and the center of mass on the left side is: L? = ((5.5 m) - (1.5 m)) / 2 = 2 m So the torque of the plank on the left side is: T? = (14.5 kg)×(2 m) = 29 kgm Now, say the painter stands at X meter on the left side from the scaffold, so the torque added on the left side is: T? = X × (75 kg) The total torque on the left must be the same as the total torque on the right, so (4 kgm) + X×(75 kg) = (29 kgm) X×(75 kg) = (25 kgm) X = 0.333 m That is the maximum distance the painter can move away from the scaffold, so the distance to the end of the scaffold is: D = (1.5 m) - (0.333 m) = 1.167 m < - - - - - - answer
Q: how can you tell is a scaffolding piercing is infected?
Excessive redness extending well beyond the piercing area, hot to the touch, yellow/green pus with an odor.
Q: A window washer is standing on a scaffold supported by a vertical rope at each end. The scaffold weighs 210 N and is 3.30 m long. What is the tension in each rope when the 690 N worker stands 2.30 m from one end?______ N (smaller tension)______ N (larger tension)
assuming the scaffold is uniform weight, take moments around 1 end to get the tension in the rope of the other the ∑M = 0, take the rope tension direction as positive 690 x 2.3 + 210 x (3.3 / 2) = T1 x 3.3 T1 = 586N Now moments around the other end 690 x (3.3-2.3) + 210 x (3.3/2) = T2 x 3.3 T2 = 314N You can check your answers as ∑F = 0, so 586 + 314 - 210 - 690 = 0
Q: I've been wanting an industrial piercing for quite a while now, and thankfully I convinced my parents to let me get it done about two weeks ago. We were on vacation in Florida last week and my mom said I could get it done there if I wanted, so we went into a tattoo shop and asked about it. They told me something I'd never heard before, that they would pierce the holes with hoops and in about a month I could put the barbell in. The piercers told me it would heal a lot easier this way and if the barbell was put in right away I'd end up taking it out because of the pain. This makes sense of course, but I have NEVER heard of it being pierced this way, and once the holes heal, won't they be off in aligning the bar with the piercings, causing me even more pain? They told me if I get it pierced in my home town to tell the piercer to do it the way they suggested but I'm not sure at all. I could take the pain if that was the only issue, but if it would heal better.. I'm not sure. Help? Thanks!
Stretching shouldn't hurt if you're giving it enough time... so this really isn't a good comparison! A single cartilage piercing doesn't hurt much more than your standard earlobe (lobe being 2, cartilage piercing being 3 on a scale of 1 to 10). But I've never had a scaffold or orbital of any kind, so I don't have much first hand experience. Honestly though I wouldn't worry about it. It will be over in 30 seconds, 1 minute tops. And you get to come away with a pretty new piercing! Yay!
