The advantage of Magnesium Alloy is that it will never crack when dropped, it feels reassuringly heavy in your hands, and cameras with a magnesium alloy body usually have weather-sealing as well to keep out water and dirt. The disadvantage is that it may be TOO heavy, and that it will dent when dropped. The advantage of Polycarbonate is that its lightweight, very durable, and bounces back to shape when dropped. The disadvantage is that when dropped to hard, polycarbonate will crack or shatter.

- Well I've had studded tires and I have to disagree with everything that you've heard. I felt the studs but they weren't that obvious, meaning if you didn't know what it was it probably wouldn't bother you all that much. I never ever had a problem stopping on clean roads - works just the same. You may not need studded tires, especially not if all you get is snow and not a lot of ice. See studs really ar for ice traction and that's where you'll see them come in handy. I live in Northern Ontario and we get about 3-5 feet of snow a year and I'm fine with just 4 good winter tires and obviously adjusting my driving for the conditionsalso not sure where you are from but lots of places won't even install just 2 tires on the front - they'll install the tires with the most traction on the back of the vehiclejust a heads up!
