- Q: out of envelopes before you put it in your paper recycles or do you leave it in? This bugs me EVERY week, lol. Who does this and who doesn't . Anyone know how they deal with the plastic. ?
- If your recycler says they take Mixed paper or mail, then don't worry about the windows. They are prepared to deal with the windows.

- Q: Yo, i am a proud owner of a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I was wondering if it is possible to tint the plastic windows using a self tint kit found at an auto store. Ive been looking for the answer online and can only find tutorials on how to use the tint on regular glass car windows. Someone please help me out before i buy the tint and try it myself and end up ruining my windows. thanks
- Nope, but if your windows are zip-out (removeable like on a Bestop Supertop) you can order tinted windows.

- Q: I have a window that is bigger than the largest piece of plastic i have, is there a way to use 2 pieces like tape them together or something?
- Use clear tape to attach them together The wider the better. Lay the plastic on a flat surface, a table if it is big enough or you can use your kitchen or living room floor. Place the 2 pieces side by side (edge to edge). Cut 2 very small pieces of tape and attach them, one at the bottom and one at the top, to secure the plastic and keep it from sliding around while you tape the entire thing together.

- How leaky are your windows? How many panes? Is there insulation around your windows? Are they caulked properly? What is the normal temperature outside? This is not something anyone can throw a number at you that makes any sense. There are to many contributing factors to come up with a savings number. Suffice to say if there is cold radiating in from the window - or heat in the summer your bill can only benefit from sealing them. The heat shrink plastic adds another thermal layer. It's like putting on a sweater under your coat if it's really cold. I live in Winnipeg Canada. In the dead of winter -40F is not uncommon. In this old house most of our windows are triple pane. The ones that are not actually get a layer of ice on the inside. We plastic those and plan to replace them.

- Q: Ok i have a couple bonsai trees and some other assorted potted plants and i wanted to know if i put plastic sheets on the windows to keep the cold from affecting the plants if that would affect how much light the plants will get. - Yes plastic will decrease the amount of light that penetrates the window. Most clear plastics are rated for how much light they let penetrate when new and as the plastic ages, it will let in less light. You may be able to find this information online if you know the type of plastic you are going to use. Try looking up light ratings or opacity for the plastic you have or ask where you plan to buy it. I can't remember the exact numbers, but clear to slightly opaque plastics usually decrease light by about 10-30%. Ten to fifteen percent should be okay for most sunny windows.
