- Q: I have a Renault Clio authentique 1.2L and it has electric windows....there is a plastic clip attached to the back of the glass that i presume keeps the glass coming up and down at the right angle but it comes up really slowly and some times not at all....i think it has something to do either with the plastic clip or it needs more lubrication.....any help is appreciated. - Q: my friends tagged my jeep like last may for the end of skool with window chalk... i got the stuff on the front and body off but the plastic windows left a light but noticeable stain... and they just tagged it again for the start of skool and im having a real hard time getting this one off is there a trick or something to buy to get this stuff off... o yea and i have a tear in my jeep window is there a way to fix that without tape like melting it back together or some waterproof glue Solution
- you can try paint thinner on a rag .....not sure if it will take the stain out of the plastic or not but it should get the chalk off without a problem. not sure what to tell you about the rip in the window tho....sorry. hope the paint thinner works for you, just use caution cause the thinner is a harsh chemical. good luck. it might burn ur skin a little but wash with soap and water afterwards....your skin and the window to play it safe.

- There are products available for exactly your problem. Search an auto parts retail website. It serves to clean and protect the plastic, and the result is usually decent.
- Q: Im looking at buying this jeep, The problem is it has those plastic zip down windows, instead of glass roll ups.can I buy glass windows for it? or would I actually have to buy completely new doors with roll up windows.cuz its gonna b a serious pain n the *** to unzip the windows!
- If you can afford it get a set of full doors and you'll have the best of both worlds. In the winter I have a hard top with full doors for comfort goodness, in the summer I switch to the soft top and half doors. You are better able to enjoy having the top off with the half doors. watch craigslist for a set of full doors and surrounds. they will coat between 500 and a grand most likely. More if you get the hard top too. unzipping the windows isn't that big of a deal really.

- If they're mini-blinds, don't bother trying to paint them. Yes, you can change the colour, by using spray paint that's made for plastics, but by the time you get enough paint on them to do that, you have enough that the blinds won't go up and down very well if at all and it will be hard to change the direction of the vanes. Unless you just want to put them on the window and never open them, paint isn't very successful on blinds.
- Q: I have a 4quot; tear in the plastic drivers side window. Are there any adhesives or techniques to fix it?
- Clear packing tape. Both sides. A couple of layers is good. Mine was cut about 3 years ago and when it starts to peel I just rip it off and do it again.
- Q: I am talking about the stuff you tape to the inside of your home windows and use a hair dryer to stretch it tight. It is supposed to keep single pane windows better at keeping in the heat. I live where it gets 30 degrees at night and 40-50 during the day in winter. Does anyone have experience with these products? Which type works best? Mainly, does it really keep heat in? OR does it keep sunlight heat out and balance out to zero help?
- Yes, this stuff does work, and I don't think there is much of a difference between the various brands; though some are easier to work with than others. You could also try caulking cord. I discovered this stuff at Home Depot and it works really well, too. You put it over all gaps in the window and frame and smooth it down with your fingers.

- My guess would be vinegar and water.No glass cleaner.

- Unfortunately the film can not be applied without close access to the inside or outside of the window. You or whoever applies it needs an extension ladder if it's above 16 ft. Taller ladders or what you need can be rented for a whole or half day at any rental store. Be very careful, falling from above 6 ft can be very traumatic and even deadly. If your not comfortable with heights you should seek out a handyman or a window tinting company and get a quote. If your injured, whatever they charge will appear cheep. Remember if you pay to have it done you won't have to rent a latter or buy the film. Whatever your charged to rent a latter and buy the film may be a good part of a tinting job by someone who does that and has what you want. Factor that in before you do it yourself. Good luck. SS

Yeah, nice friend. 200 dollars sounds like an astronomical amount for a piece of plastic that zips onto your car. Am I getting ripped off?
