- Q: I am having someone put in carpet tiles in a house and we have the carpet pad to go underneith. Does it go, Carpet pad, glue, and then carpet tiles? What should I tell them?
- I've never heard of any one putting carpet pad down before applying carpet tiles. I have seen them install regular carpet they always glue the pad down place the carpet on top of that. If you don't get a better answer to your question I would call Home Depot ask them. I did find the instructions below for installing carpet tiles but no mention of carpet pad. DIRECT STICK CARPET TILES The carpet tiles are adhered to the sub floor using Roberts 656 Carpet Tile Double Bond Underlay Adhesive. The sub floor should first be primed with Roberts 370 Floor Wall Primer prior to the application of the carpet tile adhesive. If the carpet tile is laid into a wet film of adhesive it forms an almost permanent bond between the carpet tile and sub floor. The carpet tiles may also be laid into the adhesive when it has dried to a clear tacky film allowing them to be more easily removed if repairs or replacement is required.

- The carpet just sat overnight and now smells of mildew? Wow. First you need to kill the mildew. I would spray it with Lysol so that you saturate the wet spot. You need to make sure that the padding underneath the carpet will be clean and dry, so you may even need to lift up the carpet to check the padding. If the water has saturated through to the padding, you need to Lysol that too. Then blot it with a towel to get as much of the moisture out as possible, and turn a fan on that spot and leave it for a couple of days until you are sure it is completely dry. Then work some baking soda into the carpet and vacuum it up.

- use this stuff called AWESOME. you can get it at some 99 cent stores or any other store. its very cheap but i use it for EVERYTHING!! i swear by it. it really works, even though it says to dilute don'tt, just pour it straight on, let it sit and clean in a bit. GOOD LUCK

- Here is the cheapest and easiest way for you at the age of 15. Get a white wash cloth or towel, or an old white t shirt. Wet it with warm water and ring out, put over your finger and then dip your finger in a little laundry detergent or shampoo. Scrub the area with your finger until stain goes away, then go back with a water only towel and let dry, then vacuum and fluff up the area (depending on your carpet) with a brush.
