Then you can vacuum it up. Most of the smell should be gone. Any residue just helps fireproof the carpet. Lysol spray disinfectant will stop further mold formation. Febreze will help. A portable fan directed on the area will help a lot.

Q: I bought my son one but i don't know if its okay for him to drive it over on the carpet.: Yes, it is alright to drive an R/C car carpet floors, just make sure the carpet isn't too long to get tied into the wheels. its a pain in the butt to get the carpet out of the wheels or unwrapped from the drive shaft because it is wrapped so tight
