Description	The cold rolling reduces the thickness of the steel and at the same time changes the mechanical properties of the steel. Cold rolled steel must be further processed, as the steel will react with water in the air and form rust. In most cases, it is covered with a thin layer of oil to prevent oxygen reacting with surface. The steel coils can be annealed (heated in a controlled atmosphere) to make the steel more formable (cold rolled annealed) or further processed on the metallic coating line, with a coating of either zinc (galvanized) or zinc-aluminium alloy applied. Cold rolled steel is available in a range of grades, each with a range of properties for differing applications.

Q: What are the pros with stainless steel? You don't have to oil them as much or you don't have to oil them at all?Is the rifling in the barrel typically stainless steel as well? if so, is this better accuracy or does the rifling last longer then conventional?are they worth the extra money?Thanks for any info you can provide!: Stainless Steel Handguns

Q: i found a similar question asking what metals were in stainless steel but i don't know if they are the same.... they probably aren't.: steel is iron with a little bit of carbon mixed in. how much carbon determines the hardness of the steel. stainless steel is the same mostly, it has nickle and chromium added in to make it corrosion resistant.

So it just adds to the waste. If you use steel be sure to recycle it when you are done using it. Another problem is the fact that we don't really make steel here anymore so you have to pollute the environment shipping steel here that the bottles are made from. It gets ship here on trucks, ships, and what not. Very big polluters!! You'd be better off just getting a reuseable bpa free plastic water bottle made in the usa. Or some of those expensive corn cups.

Q: If rebar steel is welded together as opposed to 'tied' does it decrease the strength of the steel?: Gary is right on! To add to it some rebar is heat treated if you weld it it loses the heat treating if you don't re heat treat it it will fail at the welded joint.
