Structure of Prepainted Rolled steel Coil for Construction Roofing

Prepainted Rolled steel Coil for Construction Roofing

Description of Prepainted Rolled steel Coil for Construction Roofing
Prepainted Rolled steel Coil is a kind of coated steel coil/sheet. With the cold rolled steel of different strength and thickness as substrate, it is produced through applying Al-Zn coat on both faces by hot dip process. In its coating, Al accounts for about 55%, Si 1.6%, while the remaining is Zn. Aluminum zinc coils enjoys both the physical protective feature and durability of Al and the electrochemical protective property of Zn. And its surface has bright silver color and regular embossed-like figure, which are highly decorative.

Main Feature of Prepainted Rolled steel Coil for Construction Roofing

1.Corrosion resistance: It mainly depends on the aluminum protection. When the zinc being worn, the aluminum will  form a dense layer of aluminum oxide, resist corrosion material to prevent further corrosion inside.
2. Heat resistance: Aluminum zinc alloy steel sheet has excellent heat resistance, can withstand high temperatures over 300 centigrade, and is similar with aluminized steel high temperature oxidation resistance. It often used in chimney pipes, ovens, fluorescent lighting device and the device cover.
3. Heat reflective: Galvanized steel plate heat-reflective high rate is twice as galvanized steel, often used to make insulation materials.
4. Economy: Because density of 55% AL-Zn is smaller than the density of Zn, so in the same weight and thickness of Galvanized zinc layer, aluminum-zinc steel plate is larger area more than 3% of galvanized steel sheet.

Q: which metals have a higher density than steel? and how does the density compare to steel( example: tungsten carbide is 2x [i think] more dense than steel.)
Stainless steel 7480 -8000 kg/m^3 Brass 8100 -8250 Cobalt - 8746 Copper 8930 Gold 19320 Lead 11340 Mercury 13593 Molybdenum 10188 Nickel 8800 Platinum 21400 Plutonium 19800 Silver 10490 Tungsten 19600 Uranium 18900
Q: I am in the US and looking for a price on wide flange steel. I need a price of one W10x30 and 20 feet long.
The price of steel is increasing daily, so an exact answer is rough. A W10x30 is a fairly common shape and shouldn't be too hard to find. For a very rough ballpark number, say $700/ton (installed price), the piece you require should be in the range of about $250.00 or less as I assume you'll be doing the installing. Please don't take this as the gospel, however. Price varies on location, stock, and availability. Open the phone book and contact your local steel supplier. Because the piece you require is fairly short, you might get lucky and find someone who has a waste piece that length that they will give you a good deal on. --------------------------------------... I just checked the AISC web site to verify the number I quoted above and they posted an article stating that the average mill price had just increased to over $1000/ton in May. The best advice I can provide at this point is to buy the W10 now and don't wait any longer.
Q: How are steel coils used in the oil and gas industry?
Steel coils are used in the oil and gas industry for various purposes such as storage, transportation, and processing of oil and gas products. These coils are commonly used in the construction of pipelines, tanks, and equipment due to their strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. They are also utilized in the production of offshore platforms and drilling rigs. Overall, steel coils play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe extraction, transportation, and processing of oil and gas resources.
Q: What are the different types of steel processing equipment for coils?
There are several types of steel processing equipment used for coils, including slitting lines, cut-to-length lines, blanking lines, and coil-to-coil lines. Slitting lines are used to slit wide steel coils into narrower strips, while cut-to-length lines are used to cut coils into specific lengths. Blanking lines are used to cut shapes out of coils, and coil-to-coil lines are used to transfer coils from one processing stage to another.
Q: what is the difference between stainless steel 304 (AISI 304) and stainless steel 310 (AISI 310) COR-TEN A
Weathering steel will rust, but the rust will be adherant and not flake off and be replaced by new rust. Therefore once it rusts it will pretty much stop rusting any more. One (severe) down side is that anything around it will be streaked with rust stains and it will look awful. Some bozo with the Texas Department of Transportation designed a number of freeway interchange overpasses here in Houston using Cor-Ten steel and all of the concrete supports are streaked with red rust stains and it looks like hell. Cameron built an office building here in Houston with a Cor-Ten facade and it is streaked with rust too. They should have gone ahead and spent the money and painted them, but they didn't.
Q: How are steel coils used in the manufacturing of industrial machinery?
Steel coils are commonly used in the manufacturing of industrial machinery to form various components, such as shafts, gears, and frames. These coils are typically cut, shaped, and welded into the desired forms to create strong and durable parts that can withstand heavy loads and high temperatures. Additionally, steel coils are often used as raw materials for fabricating machine tools, molds, and dies, which are essential for the production of industrial machinery.
Q: What are the dimensions of steel coils used in the structural component industry?
The dimensions of steel coils utilized in the structural component sector are subject to variation, contingent upon the particular application and specifications. Nevertheless, standard dimensions for steel coils in this industry encompass a width that ranges between 600mm and 2000mm, as well as a thickness that spans from 0.25mm to 10mm. The weight of these coils may also differ, typically ranging from a few kilograms to numerous tonnes. Furthermore, the length of the steel coils can be customized to fulfill the specific demands of the structural component industry, with commonplace lengths including 2000mm, 2500mm, and 3000mm. It is vital to acknowledge that these dimensions are not exhaustive and are susceptible to variation based on the specific product and manufacturer.
Q: How are steel coils used in the manufacturing of crash structures?
Steel coils are used in the manufacturing of crash structures as they provide high tensile strength and durability, making them ideal for absorbing and distributing impact forces during a crash. These coils can be shaped and formed into various components such as beams, brackets, and panels, which are then integrated into the vehicle's frame or body structure to enhance its crashworthiness and protect occupants in the event of a collision.
Q: How are steel coils used in the production of industrial tanks?
Steel coils are used in the production of industrial tanks as they are rolled and formed into the desired shape to create the tank's structure. The coils provide the necessary strength and durability required to withstand the pressure and weight of the tank's contents.
Q: If rebar steel is welded together as opposed to 'tied' does it decrease the strength of the steel?
Gary is right on! To add to it some rebar is heat treated if you weld it it loses the heat treating if you don't re heat treat it it will fail at the welded joint.
