- Get a Kershaw hunting knife. Kershaw uses only good quality knife steel and they have plenty of hunting knives under $100.

- IMO, steel is fine. The only time I've felt that aluminum was important was: 1. A horse with a specific shoeing issue that required an aluminum shoe. 2. A racehorse-- every micro-gram counts. 3. Top level pleasure horses who need a little bit flatter knee. Everything else I've seen did just fine in regular steel shoes.

- after you've downloaded broken steel, while playing in game you should get a message saying, broken steel loaded, then you can make your way to the purifier and finish of the col. and activate it, after-wards you will have to sit through the end movie, which I felt was longer than the original, then the broken steel part will start, which I wont ruin. If your still having problems, go into your DLC and delete broken steel, and re-install it.

- I would assume that you want to carry at least two sand wedges in your bag - the modern set makeup today will have a 52 or 54 and a 58 or 60. Unless you are getting the matching wedges to a set of graphite irons , I would go with a steel shaft in sand wedges.

- boy what a though question ! let me explain. when you rapidly cool a steel from high temperatures(depending on steel type) with water or oil or other means , it is called quenching. it depends on the steel type to say if it is better to quench it with oil or water but basically in water you will have a harder steel rather than oil. for some steels if you do this you will ruin it's properties ! you can't totally tell what kind of steel do you have until you get it analyzed with Quantometer analyzer with a pocket knife it is more like an estimation and it can't be trust able generally if you can scratch the steel with your knife it means it is not a hard steel and it might not be expensive. I hope that helps but for more information i need to know more !

- O-1 is an excellent steel. If you've never made a knife before find an old file and use it. My first knives weren't that good, it took a little practice to get the geometry right so be prepared to burn some steel. The advantage of a file is it is already hardened, unless you have a torch or forge that will be near imposable for you to do. The most important thing in knife making is the heat treating. The best steel wont perform like it's supposed to. If you decide to use a file grind your blade out, keep the steel cool; do not let it get any color in it (brown, blue, purple) as this destroys the temper. When your finished put the blade in the oven at 400 deg for an hour. It should have a good hardness for a knife then. As for me, I use old car springs(5160), saw blades(L-6) for many of my blades, Good luck.
