Instructions: 1: Clean all surfaces to be soldered with solvent and a wire brush to remove all grease, corrosion or dirt. 2: Apply a coating of flux to the stainless steel parts you are connecting. If you are soldering brass or copper parts to the stainless steel, tin them first by heating them and applying a thin coat of solder to the area that connects to the stainless steel. 3: Hold your parts together with wire or clamps. Make sure the surfaces fit flush. Silver solder will not fill gaps. 4: Heat the parts with a torch until the solder flows onto the joint. When the parts are hot enough, the solder will instantly turn to liquid when it touches the metals, then it will flow into the joint. If it does not do this, keep heating the metal until it does, but do not heat the solder directly. Only allow the hot metal to melt the solder. 5: Remove the torch and solder as soon as a sufficient amount of solder melts onto the joint. You don't need much, and a glob can look ugly. 6: Allow the metal to cool before touching or cleaning it. You can dunk it in water to cool it faster.

- Non Stick is good for frying, sauteeing, etc., but I find they don't tend to last as long as regular stainless steel pans because they can get scratched relatively easy if you use metal stirring utensils. Stainless steel is good for soups, stews, or if you plan to use a metal stirring utensil (whisk, fork, etc.). I use both non-stick and stainless steel pots and pans. I think the most useful pots/pans I have are my medium-sized, non-stick frying pan and my small, stainless steel dutch oven.

But mostly they effect the corrosive and rust resistance property's of the stainless steel. 300 series stainless steel such as 304e or 316e will not rust like 400 series 416e eventually will. All types of stainless steel can achieve a bright shine. The key is using jewelers rouge and the correct buffing wheel. Avoid scotchbrite if you want shine. - In all my experience as a farrier steel toes have neither helped nor caused any problem. I would be a vary rare case that the horse would be able to collapse the steel and with that much force the steel bending would be the last of your problems because your foot would have been completely destroyed without it. I agree with being alert a nd trying to get your feet out of the way. The few times i've been hurt the horse has chopped down toe first on the arch of my foot high above where there steel is any way. I've oddly enough never had a problem with getting my toes stepped on it really doen't seem to hurt if they land flat footed.

- Graphite is a lot lighter and will allow you to generate more swing speed and probably greater distance. I hit my graphite clubs about one club longer than my steel shafts. But, my steel shafts are far more accurate. I find I hit a lot more greens in regulation using my steel shafted irons than I do with my graphites. Since accuracy is far more important than distance for most people, I choose the steel shafted irons most of the time. You will NEVER see a professional or a low handicapper using graphite irons for this reason.
