- Q:I understand that all fluorescent light fittings with ballasts have capacitors fitted to correct the power factor. But do many factories/machine shops etc have capacitor banks? Are motors (large or small) supplied with capacitors by the manufacturer for power factor correction? (I think not?)
- I work at a factory as electronic specialist and from what iv seen no. The only places I have seen capacitor banks have been on circuit boards. Our electric motors are just ran off of motor contacts of VFDs if we need a variable speed. All our DC photoeyes and other things we have a DC power supply which also has a capacitor bank inside. Thats about it tho
- Q:2 weeks i think continuously and was only stopped by man , is this perpetual motion
- No. It uses power from the Sun, and if it did not receive power from the sun it would stop functioning. It is able to continue to operate at night or in heavy overcast conditions on banked power (batteries, or other), but only for a limited time (That might be one of the reasons it was operated in the desert). A true perpetual motion machine would be one which did not take energy from anything outside of itself. Such a thing is impossible.
- Q:Assume that at some point in your life, you will maintain several bank accounts including a checking account and a money market account. You might pay a fee of $100 each year for your bank to sweep funds to and from your checking account depending on the balances. At the same time, you might have a job that provides for an increase in your salary based on changes in the rate of inflation. In this situation does a loss in purchasing power represent a cost of inflation? Why or why not? Do your banking fees represent a cost of inflation? Why or why not?
- Inflation is a fall in the real value of your currency. Your money buy less. Decline in purchasing power. Bank fees are something different. The bank fees that you pay are something you have contractually agreed to with your bank. It doesn't matter where the value of your currency goes, your bank fees are the same.
- Q:1. Should a bank go bankrupt what will happen to all your money?2. If you have a loan THEN the bank goes bankrupt, what'll happen to the loan?3. I heard you can gain political power by controlling the banks as politican, how does it work?Simple summaries please,Thanks in advance.
- 1 If its member of FDIC you can get back up to 250K 2 The banks are interconnected they bank who gave you the loan they might have sold it to other banks or entities. 3. I am not sure
- Q:I, like most people, am sick of banks and their power over the world. I have recently heard about something called a credit union:
- Most credit unions are only for a certain group of people. You have to work for a certain employer, work in a certain industry, etc. Not just anyone can open an account at any credit union. Another drawback is that the services offered by credit unions are not as sophisticated as with big banks. I do a HUGE amount of banking and transfers online. Most credit unions are not set up for that. Lastly, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Most credit unions only have 1-4 branches. So finding one that is close to where you live and work AND that you qualify to be a member of it VERY tricky.
- Q:I really want to save about $300 before May 20th so that I can go summer clothes shopping since I'm going on a trip. But every single cent I get I spend. Either on coffee, clothes, earrings, food at school, you name it and I'll buy it. I've never been good at saving money. But I really want to do this. I've tried hiding it I've tried putting a picture of what I want of where I hold it on it, I've tried giving it to my parents, I've tried everything! And I really want to save it so that I can have a lot of cute clothes for my trip.
- If it's just that you want to use all that extra money that is going for all those things that you mentioned for the clothes. Then make yourself a chart-using $300 as a goal (maybe like a thermometer) and then cut out pictures of your vacation destination and summer clothes and look at it often and set your goal and sight for what you desire. If you can't handle the temptation, maybe mom can help you-she could save it in the bank for you and give it to you when your goal is met. If you get a steady amount of money, and it's that you blow it without knowing where it goes, make a budget. Some people use the envelope method, where you put a set amount of money on payday to each envelope you name, so if you have enough money-set aside so much for coffee, clothes and all the others that you spend, and then consider how many payperiods prior to your trip-then figure how much per payperiod it will take you to reach your $300 goal. Then each payperiod-put the set amount in With the other accounts you then spend accordingly, but once you run out-that's it-no more spending in that category-this is so you don't overspend and you meet your $300 goal. You may also have times that you don't spend all the money in the different categories and you can take that extra amount for either next time or put it into your summer clothes account-so that you reach the goal sooner. If mom just gives you money randomly, then figure how much you need each month prior to the vacation, and save that allowance and ask for extra jobs grandmother/grandfather, or any other relative may have extra jobs that need to be done and they would be glad to give you a few dollars for it-then that's great. Maybe you could have a yard sale-where you sale all the clothes or toys you have grown out of. Good luck on your goals-try not to give up.

- Q:I am doing a report on the World Bank/IMF and the debt of developing countries. Does anyone have a good example of a country that has been exploited by the World Bank or IMF?
- Argentinean and Polonaise people. These countries followed all the recipes of those banks ant the result for their population was a total disaster.
- Q:I am buying a 10,000MAH power bank for my Sony xperia z5 premium and I need to know how to stick it to the back of the phone. I was thinking I would just glue it, But what if I need to take it off? How do I stick something securely to a surface without damaging it?
- Buy a cheap phone case then glue it to the back of that. Use a strong plastic glue and a hard plastic (not silicone) case. That way you can remove it from the phone easily and it will be strong enough to resist everyday use.
