Q: 12x12 ceiling tile are loose and sagging
Hi okorder
Q: Is there a simple way to lay ceramic tile. It is for a small bathroom. Never laid it before but There is a first time for everything. Should I use small tile or large.About 50 sq feet
I am not sure but i know you can learn on line or at a store.
Q: Just started tiling my tub surround and I have two very similar layouts graphed up. The actual colors of the tile and listello will be different than the ones shown in the pictures, so don‘t look at the computerized colors since they aren‘t accurate. The layout however, is pretty darn close to what I am planning on doing.
I like the first pic of the tiling.
Q: What is the concept of tiles?
* ST Jiangquan (600212): The company is the leading domestic building materials industry, is also the largest timber traders, the products are exported to Europe, South America, Central Africa, West Africa, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions. In the consolidation of mid-range tiles market, moderate increase in the share of high-grade tiles to Beijing, Shanghai and other big cities as a breakthrough, and actively build a highly efficient sales force, the company's sales network.
Q: We just bought a house and the bathroom tile looks terrible. Its not in bad shape, I just dont like the ugly floral pattern. Since we had to spend a lot of money on other projects in the house we dont have a lot to spend on re-tiling, The bathroom is small, about 5ftx4ft of floor, so I thought peelstick would be a good option. The tiles currently on the floor are peel and stick, should I remove them all before I apply the new ones? or can I just give them a good cleaning and lay the new tiles over them?
Removing the old ones is the correct way to go. Of course if this room doesn't receive much traffic, it would probably be ok to stick the new ones over the old ones. If you remove the old ones. Use an iron over wax paper on each tile to heat the glue up to remove. Then you will have to put a skim coat down to create new clean surface for the tiles to adhere to.
Q: Figure, I was in the indoor shoot, only two lights 600W1200w, brick surface is not bright matt antique tiles, moved to remove the two sides still have, I do not want to shoot good-looking, is to accurately accurate design printing of. Is there any way? Do you have to be back? Polar mirror ok? By the way, what kind of high-reflective polished tiles to shoot?
Light source to astigmatism 2. Add polarizer 3. Avoid the light source angle ? High reflective to shoot the texture, make a soft box, just like the eyes of light as the film, if the contrast is too large to use the high dynamic to reduce the contrast
Q: I am really sick of my tile backsplash. It's small white tiles. Is there an easier and less expensive way to cover them up instead of removing them?
get the tiles out is way much cheaper then to cover another layer. You see when its broken we just throw it away cos its really not that expensive. If I'm your contractor I would make a easy kill.haha
Q: Can I leave them alone and simply go over them w/ mud and ceramic tile . I really don‘t want to open the hazmat can of worms by getting the tiles tested. The tiles look like that mutfti pattern common in office buildings and schools and secured w/ a mastic. Thanks
I believe the general rule in vinyl flooring or tiles is if it was manufactured before 1984 it probably has asbestos in it.....since it is old tile which probaby has some edges that are somewhat risen in spots,I recommend going over the floor with quarter inch plywood or luan, which should solve the problem.....
Q: the tiles are laid down using thinset cement. Mastic not used.
Try using a putty knife, holding it flat on the ground and working it gently under and around the edges of the tile, applying very little pressure upward, the tile should snap off in one piece.
Q: I ripped up all the existing tile, it was small tiles that I had to chisel up. There is quite a bit of thinset that is bonded to the wood floor and its impossible to get it all up. If I try and chisel it all off I end up ripping up the wood and making it worse.I think the wood sub floor is sitting on another older piece of sub floor but i‘m not sure. What are my options here?- put cement board over it (do i need to put waterproof membrane?) and then tile it? If I do this the bathroom floor will be slightly higher then the hallway floor.- Can I use self leveler on the wood subfloor and then tile over it? it would probably be the ideal height.- Do I chance ripping up the subfloor and doing cement board and then tile?Am I missing any other options?
In the UK tile adhesive is made for cement and wooden floors combined as this has a latex type compound in it that makes it harden but stay pliable as well to allow for a bit of movement under the tile. If you have cleaned most of your thinset off and are left with some still on but not higher than say 4mm (preferably less) then I would say just to lay the tiles as if the floor was completely clean. If worried about how to lay the adhesive on an uneven floor do what I have done which is to apply the adhesive to the back of the tile first, using a tile cement applicator with ridges deeper than the high points of the thinset, flip the tile over and lay/tap/level into position. Don't walk on for 36 hrs minimum after laying.
