- Toffy's okorder /... Basically, you'll need to get the tile very clean, paint in several coats and then seal it with a good urethane. You need to be cautious about floors that will consistently get wet which would cause you problems with the paint and urethane. Also, if you paint and seal your floor I would treat it more like a wood floor as far as cleaning is concerned since you're now just going to be cleaning a urethane surface. Lastly, can I offer some free advice? Once you start painting that floor there is no turning back. It would be almost impossible to remove the paint if you don't like the way it looks and you would probably just have to rip the flooor out or put another flooring over the top of it as Toffy mentioned. If I was thinking about doing this, I would get some similar tiles to what you have and just lay them on a piece of plywood in the garage and do a quick grout job. It doesn't have to be perfect. I would do some testing with paint and urethane to see how it looks and how well it will hold up to wear.

- Using large tiles are better than the 5 x 5 tiles (old fashioned). Tiles can be marbles or travertine or granite looks more elegant. Normally it sells by 5 - 8 dollars per sq. foot and the labor normally goes the same amount. beware of some contractors that will charge double for the labor meaning... example... 8 dollars per sq foot and they will charge you 16 dollars per sq foot (labor).

- I ve worked with tiles for over 20 years and I find no difference in tiles from different areas such a Italian , Indian .USA, Brazil, China etc. They all have excellent and garbage tiles. The vitrified tiles is a type of tile as is ceramic and porcelains. Usually a bit harder bodied and the the sizing is better on vitrified tiles. Get what coloring and style fits your needs. - Q: how can i tile over linolium flooring without pulling it up?
- I would remove the linoleum then lay the tile down. Just take a razor knife with a new blade and some contractor bags. Score the linoleum in three foot strips and it should pull up real easy. You will have a little more difficulty where there is a lot of foot traffic but don't give up. Once the linoleum is up you can got to town. Measure off one wall and snap a chalk line then lay your tile with that line. Good Luck Moskie257

- I would like to say if the Canadian tiles are brand tiles, it must be low brand! My home decoration foreman look at the tile that is the goods, that is not exaggerated! Just looking for two tiles simply on the missing! Find the boss to sell tiles or are less, my family also bought Marco Polo, and this is not the kind of phenomenon, and the specifications marked in the box is very clear! - Q: I rent but we have cracked a couple of white kitchen counter tiles. Is there a quikfix alternative to replacing them? We realize the solution would be cosmetic.
- i..just go to your local Lowe's and get your white replace,emt tiles...get a grout chisel and get the grout out and take the cracked tile out...get you premixed tile mortar and put your new tiles back on and re-grout with your same premixed mortar..(it's called premixed mortar and grouta)...whhoollaaah your done.....any flooring specialist can walk you through it if you should have questions..
- Q: My wall tiles has been for more than 20yrs owned by first owner. Due to limited budget,i have not replaced them when i bought over as 2nd owner, but have done a coat of spray paint on it thru contractor, Now after 5 yrs, some of these spray paint are coming off, any suggestion what i can do , i do not want to hack the wall and replace new wall tiles very costly, someone suggest buying bathroom tiles stickers on those tiles with paint coming off.. anyone with better suggestion on DIY ..plse help---
- remove all of the silly paint with a heat gun and plastic putty knife, dig out the grout and regrout. Unless the tile are loose, then you will have to pop out the loose ones and re-adhere them to the wall with construction adhesive or thinset. painting is not a good plan. Especially if you paid someone to do it. It would have been cheaper to install new tile yourself than pay someone to paint it.
