Q: We laid tile in our Master bath about a month and a half ago. Now we have 2 tiles that are crackd. I would like to no what caused it. We have a slab foundation.
It depends on what you used as the adhesive. You may not have enough thinset/tile adhesive under the cracked tiles OR the slab floor was not leveled properly. You will have to remove those 2 tiles and scrape the adhesive off the floor and check for level. Once that is done you can re-apply thinset adhesive as that is the best for flooring applications, and re-set the tiles in the new thinset and tap them down a little bit so they are level with the tiles around them.
Q: How did the tiles come out?
3, polished tiles Polished tiles is the surface of the whole body of brick body polished by a kind of bright bricks, belonging to a kind of quintana brick. In contrast to the whole body bricks, the surface of the polished tiles is much smoother. Polished tiles are hard and wearable and are suitable for use in most interior spaces except for toilets and kitchens. In the use of infiltration technology on the basis of polished tiles can make a variety of imitation stone, imitation wood effect. Polished tiles will be polished when polished stomata, these pores will be filth, and even some tea poured on the polished tiles are back to the days of weakness. Perhaps the industry is aware of this, and later some good quality polished tiles in the factory are added a layer of anti-fouling layer, but this layer of anti-fouling layer and polished brick to lose the effect of the whole body brick. If you want to continue the whole body, had to continue to brush anti-fouling. The decoration industry also has a water wax before the construction to prevent sticky practices.
Q: I have painstakingly cleaned and restored victorian age tiles in hall (using natural and eco products). Wondering what to seal with? Found few eco tile sealants but wondered if anyone used any without distorting the colour? Thanks :)
Most tile have a glazed finish so unless it dose not have it,it will be difficult to seal. You don`t mention wheat her its wall or floor tiles,if it wall tiles you might get away with it.If it floor tiles I think it will cause a problem by walk over it.
Q: 6 blocks, 12 mirrors, 3 white tiles.
you could make L shaped 'legs' (four) the same heoght with the glass blocks. turn the open parts toward the center, corners out. place the mirror on a piece of plywood, and frame the mirro with tile to make, coffee table, end table, sofa table, night table varying the design only by lengths and widths. You could make a set. Also take five mirror tiles and four 12 pieces of lumber. adhere a tile to two pieces of wood and set to dry, do it again, so to let two dry at a time. when dry, stand upright as ends of a cube use two tiles to complete the cube and set a fifth one on top for a mirror cube. Raise the mirror cube using glass blocks, as before. Cut a piece of 4x4 wood the lenth of the floor to ceilng and screw to a wall and tile with the white tiles to create architectural interest in a room. Build a column of wood, 12 x4 and use mirror on one side and tiles on the end to create a room dividing pice of art that uses the light in a room to trick the eye and increase it's size. With the prpoer nearly clear silicone you can create a column of glass blocks and light it from inside with christmas lights.
Q: i have the material that is needed to tile my home but cannot pay for it to be done so i need information on how to do this
If you need to prep such as lay cement board or do you have slab to go directly over? Proper prep work is the most important thing. To lay tile , center the room, lay tile out dry. When you get to the wall, if you have a 1/2 tile or bigger, your all set. If you end up with less than 1/2 tile, recenter the middle tile to shift every thing over by a 1/2 tile. Then strike a line. Mix thin set, let it set and mix again. You ll want it to be spreadable but not to thick. The use of the proper size trowel for what ever size tile. Don t spread any more thin set than you can set tile in just a few minutes. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. Q: My landlord recently had new bath/shower faucets installed, but didn‘t have matching tiles put in place of the ones that had to be removed in a small section. Do I have a legitimate case against my landlord? It‘s such an eyesore. Everytime I shower, I see the unmatching tiles and get so angry. Aren‘t I deserving of matching tiles?
No, you do not have a legitimate case against your landlord, as non matching tiles does not interfere with the safety or function of the residence. In fact, most leases nowadays have clauses that repairs under $250 are the responsibility of the tenant. I know that's how my lease reads. As for being deserving of matching tiles, only you can answer that. If you are a nit-picky tenant who gets angry about everything and complains on YA, your landlord might not think so.
Q: Do you have to rough up the old flooring ?
You certainly do need to rough it up, you may also need to seal or prime it - I have seen new tiling 'creeping' over old, when the glue hasn't really been suitable. The best thing is to get recommendations from the tile manufacturer for the right adhesive for this situation (probably a solvent based one).
Q: help!! i need an estimate of ANY italian tile... like the cost per sq. ft. i really need it for a project!!! please make sure the tile works for the entire house (only inside) and light colored nothing dark plz and thank you =]
hallo? .. u're asking for help, but not giving specific information. tiles are different range from price, quality, and size -even its italian tile ... how to calculate? we need to get down to your floor plan, and choosen of tiles, my dear ...
Q: I want to install a towel hook in my bathroom, but it is all ceramic tile, including the walls. Adhesive doesn‘t work. Is there any way to put screws in the tile with out cracking the tiles? Thanks.
Silicone caulk will adhere tenaciously to ceramic tile. If you are trying to attach metal to ceramic, you could also drill through the tile with a carbide drill and use conventional anchors. I have use both methods but prefer the former if possible.
Q: To re-do the kitchen so to change the previous, but the tiles left on the traces of viscose, how to remove it? Is there any good way? First, thank you
With the cleansing oil ah, the kind of good quality, glass cups on the stainless steel cup mark a few seconds to get, hand rub on the line, and even wipes are not, the most critical is the slightest trace, more Not in the precious shiny items left ugly scratches, rub your things still bright like a mirror. This is my exclusive recipe Oh, most people I do not tell him! Hey hey!
