- Until your gerbil gets the hang of it, put the food on the level he does have access to. At times all it takes is a little time for them to realize there's more to their home. - You're right, plastic is not good for them. I recommend getting an aquarium (I have a 55 gallon myself). For two gerbils a 20 gallon would be okay, but the bigger the better. Fill the aquarium with wood toys and cardboard (hideouts, playground, etc). Trixie Pet products are nice for gerbils. I know the CritterTrail habbitats look nice but they are not worth it. The gerbils can get sick/hurt from the plastic and there isn't adequate space. Good luck.

- That's an unusual question. MANY years ago (50 or so) when we used to run a lot of pregnancy tests by utilizing Leopard Frogs, we used to use V-bottomed test tubes to spin down the sediment. Frankly, that's pretty much the only example I can remember where we used them. But I would think that they are still around. I would suggest you contact a laboratory supply house or two or three, and ask them. They are much more likely to be able to give you an answer than us geeks on the Yahoo medicine board. The stuff I used 50 years ago might not be around anymore.
