Physical properties[edit]

Polyethylene is a thermoplasticpolymer consisting of long hydrocarbon chains. Depending on the crystallinity and molecular weight, a melting point and glass transition may or may not be observable. The temperature at which these occur varies strongly with the type of polyethylene. For common commercial grades of medium- and high-density polyethylene the melting point is typically in the range 120 to 180 °C (248 to 356 °F). The melting point for average, commercial, low-density polyethylene is typically 105 to 115 °C (221 to 239 °F).it is transprant.

Chemical properties[edit]

Most LDPE, MDPE and HDPE grades have excellent chemical resistance, meaning that it is not attacked by strong acids or strong bases. It is also resistant to gentle oxidants and reducing agents. Polyethylene burns slowly with a blue flame having a yellow tip and gives off an odour of paraffin. The material continues burning on removal of the flame source and produces a drip.[3] Crystalline samples do not dissolve at room temperature. Polyethylene (other than cross-linked polyethylene) usually can be dissolved at elevated temperatures in aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene or xylene, or in chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethane or trichlorobenzene.[4]

Q: What are the common lengths of plastic tubes?
The common lengths of plastic tubes vary depending on their intended purpose, but some commonly available lengths include 1 foot (30 cm), 2 feet (60 cm), and 4 feet (120 cm).
Q: a. ultraviolet (germicidal light)b. 121 C at 15 psi for 15 minutesc. 160 C for 2 hoursd. all are correct
If it were a Glass tube the answer would be A. UV Light does not go through glass well and would not kill much. If it is a plastic tube, D.
Q: i connected a plastic tube about 7 or 8 inchs long onto a butane can im wondering if when i push down on the can and put a match near it can the fire go back into the can explode
Yes it will unless you have a regulator between the valve and the tube
Q: The inner and outer walls are plastic, and the middle layer is steel
1. has the strength of more than ordinary plastic pipes. Rigidity. Impact resistance. Similar to the low coefficient of expansion and creep resistance of steel pipe2. double sided corrosion protection. It has the same corrosion resistance as plastic pipes. It has high temperature and corrosion resistance and low thermal conductivity3., smooth inner wall, no fouling, pipe head loss is lower than steel pipe 30%.4., by adjusting the diameter of steel wire, the thickness of the plastic layer, and so on to make different pressure levels of pipe50 the whole pipe is designed according to the service life of 5. years6., the structure is good. The reinforced skeleton of the pipe and the inner and outer layer plastic are mutually integrated into a whole, and there is no worry about the peeling between the inner and outer layer plastic and the reinforcing body
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for cable protection?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for cable protection. They provide insulation and prevent damage to cables, making them a suitable option for protecting cables in various applications.
Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to chemical degradation?
Yes, plastic tubes are generally resistant to chemical degradation.
Q: in my home's a#92;c internal unit there is a rotating plastic tube where the cool air is blowing from. what is the name of this spare part? thanks.
do you mean the fan ? also called a squirrel cage .
Q: What is the difference between the HDPE pipe and the PE water supply pipe?
Now almost all the industry to add materials, manufacturers do not have very few. We are the space of subordinate enterprises, but also the production of steel reinforced polyethylene spiral corrugated pipe and steel skeleton plastic composite pipe, we are not added back to the material, but our price is relatively high, after all, is a quality of a price. To say that the proportion of materials used to add, there are many, and some even all of the materials used to produce, it is difficult to imagine.
Q: How do you prevent plastic tubes from warping?
To prevent plastic tubes from warping, it is important to avoid exposing them to high temperatures or extreme changes in temperature. Additionally, storing them in a cool and dry environment can help maintain their shape and prevent warping.
Q: i was blowing on a enclosed tube then i hear and feel a crackle between my ear and jaw and i felt like i knocked the stuffing out of my ear but i still hear perfectly normal and hear good. is something wrong and should i be concerned. my parents said it happened to them when they were little kids
that is reverse air pressure in your ear from the air going up the Eustachian tube and hitting the eardrum
