- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for sound barriers?
- Yes, plastic sheets can be used as sound barriers. They are often used in construction projects and industrial settings to reduce noise levels and create a more peaceful environment. Plastic sheets can effectively block and absorb sound waves, making them a suitable option for soundproofing applications.
- Q: I need some sheet wood in effects like oak, maple ETC but it needs to b cheep and i need a lot of it what wood/board would you recommend? i try'd conti board but its really expensive
- Go have a look at fake panelling. the stuff with printed wood grain on it. If you turn it over, the back of it is usually ribbon cut mahogany. I did a cabin interior with it and finished the joints with stained pine lath and it looks like.......expensive!
- Q: I admit I haven’t seen these in years and I'm not sure I’m even using the right term. The only slide shows I’ve seen or made in the past 7 years were Power Point ones. But several years ago I remember these clear plastic sheets that could be printed on with my simple, cheap, disposable printer (a Lexmark that came free with my PC).I have a little 3 in 1 Inkjet (Epson Stylus CX4800) and I want to be able to print on thin sheets of plastic. QUESTIONSDo they still sell those sheets? What are they called?Who sells them?Do you think they would work in an Inkjet or would I need to find someone with a Laser or other type of printer? Thanks
- they are called transparencies and they can be purchased fro inkjet printer. Staples does sell them. They are inkjet compatible transparencies or acetates. Make sure you purchase ones that are inkjet compatible.
- Q: I am trying to imitate corrugated plastic (the translucent quality) but in a larger scale. Is there something you recommend I use? thanks!
- I have sprayed glass with a very light coat of cheap white spray paint, and it gives it the frosted look. I bet the same would apply to acrylic.
- Q: I am about to buy a Create and I have heard a lot of people complaining about the nibs being destroyed very fast due to the paper-like surface of the tablet drawing area, so I was wondering if putting paper or plastic would make the nibs last longer (without compromising the tablet performance).
- Not a bad idea but I don't think it's necessary. You could try it though. I just don't think it's worth it. (I can tell you that putting a paper under it won't help. If anything it makes using it more difficult.) This is assuming you're not going to be sitting at your computer drawing (or whatever) constantly 24/7. Bamboo create has an eraser on the back of the pen. If you feel like your nib is wearing out to quick you can draw with it as well. I don't notice much of a difference between drawing with the nib side or the eraser side. Also the tablet does come with a few replacement nibs. They'll last longer than you think! Just DON'T loose them! If you want the nib to last longer only use it for drawing (or whatever it is you specifically got it for) use the eraser or you finger the rest of the time. I've had my tablet for half a year and I haven't even gone through one nib even though I draw a lot. I would also like to note that at some point you will most likely need to install a driver to your computer. I had a rather annoying issue a few months ago when the tablet knew the pen was there but the cusser wasn't showing up on the screen. The driver fixed this all up. I've also had a very positive experience with customer service. Sent me a new USB cord when my original broke, no questions asked. :)
- Q: Plastic NPP board, there is no poison?
- If it is made of polypropylene, the cup is non-toxic and the processing temperature (DEG) is 180~240. So boiling water doesn't break it down.
- Q: What are plastic sheets used for?
- Plastic sheets are commonly used for various purposes such as packaging, construction, insulation, signage, and even crafting projects.
- Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to warping from heat?
- Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to warping from heat. However, the level of heat resistance can vary depending on the type of plastic used and the specific temperature it is exposed to.
- Q: I desperately need this material for a project at work, my boss is counting on me. I've already looked at Home Depot (only white stuff), Walmart had nothing, and Michaels had nothing. Any Suggestions???

- Q: I can't think of the name of this material at the moment and have searched the net to no avail so far. They are made to look like tiles/slates but come in sheets measuring about 8x4 ft. They are light by comparison with the real thing and would suit the roof I need to cover. Can anyone refer me to a website dealing with them or give me any details as to how they are installed? Thanks for the info!!!
- 4' x 8' plywood is often used to 'sheath' a roof. Corrugated metal or fiberglass/plastic has been used to cover roofs and they can come in 4 x 8 sheets I don't believe the fiberglass/plastic, or that formica, (which is what I think you mean by 'plastic tiles/slates) will satisfy most fire codes.
