Q: Can solar panels be used in space?
Yes, solar panels can be used in space. In fact, they are extensively used in space missions to generate electricity from sunlight, as there is no atmosphere to block or scatter the sunlight in space. The International Space Station and various satellites rely on solar panels to power their systems and equipment.
Q: How do solar panels reduce carbon emissions?
Solar panels reduce carbon emissions by generating electricity from sunlight, which is a clean and renewable energy source. Unlike fossil fuels, solar power does not produce any greenhouse gas emissions or pollutants during operation. By replacing traditional energy sources, such as coal or gas-fired power plants, with solar panels, we can significantly reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions that are released into the atmosphere, helping to mitigate climate change and improve air quality.
Q: So, I've seen cheap solar panel kits for sale from Harbor Freight, and regardless of whether or not I were to buy a set from them or someone else, I was wondering what the process of implementing a small-scale solar system into your household electrical system would be.I've read articles that started out too in-depth or were speaking of systems on a much larger scale. Can it be as easy as buying the panels and inverter, and plugging it into a socket, or is there more to it?Some of the articles I was reading had mentioned having to contract with your electrical supplier, having to have an electrician tie it all in in some special/ necessary way, using a battery pack (would this be necessary for a tied-in system?), or using the system to only power single items, like a water heater, or plugging items into a connected battery-pack, all of which I'm not sure is necessary or needed for what my goals/ means are/ would be.
Solar panel produces DC power that cannot be used directly by any electric device at house. Besides, it produces very little current unless its size is big as your roof. To convert DC power into AC power requires even more investment, like a huge storage rechargeable battery bank and very high power DC to AC converter . That is not worth to try it to supply whole house electricity with solar power . That might cost you at least U$20,000 to start with and never ended weekly maintenance. You could only try it just for fun to let it light up a few LED directly without the need to add any extra parts to it.
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of drought?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of drought. Solar panels are not affected by water scarcity as they do not require water for their operation. They generate electricity by converting sunlight into energy, making them suitable and effective in dry climates.
Q: All I know is they check for amps watts voltage and everything... they dont have to be used for solar panels but um they have like alittle spinny thing in the middle of them. you spin it around to what you wanna test such as the amps watts voltage and stuff.... idk what their called but im looking to buy one to test my solar panels when they come in
They're called...Electric Testers, or Voltage Testers, or whatnot, they don't really have a special name in my experience. Just go to your local hardware store and buy one.
Q: I live in Los Angeles area, I see the ads that, they will install solar panel for $0. I would like to know what is the catch ?Thanks You.
using solar panel in your life, you can save the electricity bill, also you are saving energy for our later generations. If more and more people are using solar energy, the mother earth will become more beautiful.
Q: How do solar panels affect roof ventilation?
Solar panels can have both positive and negative effects on roof ventilation. On one hand, solar panels can provide shade to the roof, reducing heat gain and potentially improving the overall ventilation of the roof space. On the other hand, solar panels can obstruct airflow and create a barrier that hinders natural ventilation. Proper installation and design considerations are crucial to ensure that solar panels do not negatively impact roof ventilation.
Q: Can solar panels be used to power an emergency response center?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power an emergency response center. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be stored in batteries or directly used to power the center's equipment, lighting, and other electrical needs. This can provide a reliable and sustainable source of power, especially during emergencies when the grid may be down or unreliable.
Q: My solar panel is 24long..It is set at 45deg..the arms are 8quot;long to achieve that angle for winter. I need to get to 7deg for summer..how long will the new arms need to be?..in layman's terms please...thx
You did not give the details of how the legs are attached to the panel. I did some calculations on my right triangle analysis application. Based on an assumption that the legs are vertical and attached to the bottom of the panel top, i calculated the legs must be 6.97 inches long. This compares favorably with the 8 inches you quoted. t If my assumption is true, the leg length for a 7 degree angle is 2.925 inches. The configuration, if my assumption is correct, will be a right triangle. The hypotenuse (longest leg of the triangle) is the panel length and the vertical legs are the supports. If my assumption is incorrect, edit your question to detail the support /panel configuration. TexMav
Q: I am doing research for a project.Please reply soon! :)
Yes or one could say that Solar Panel is a simple and easy way to say photovoltaic array.
