(Like if they're working on it right then or it's just busted, which seems to happen often.) If it's giving you better service, that's awesome, so don't bother to ask T-Mobile to put you back on their towers (tech support can do that I think). Roaming on other towers is included on T-Mobile so it's not going to affect your bill at all.
