Q: Can plastic tubes be used for wastewater treatment plants?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for wastewater treatment plants. Plastic tubes, such as PVC or HDPE pipes, are commonly used in wastewater treatment plants for various purposes like transporting wastewater, distributing air for aeration processes, or carrying treated effluent. Plastic tubes are often preferred due to their corrosion resistance, durability, affordability, and ease of installation.
Q: This tube is found when u remove the silver engine cover.I need to buy this tube cos its broken. It looks like an exhaust oil channel (not sure). it was noted to be broken/cot during a recent service and I was told only citroen dealers can have it in stock.Car runs fine but I occasionally smell oil while driving.
It sounds like some kind of breather pipe to me, probably the best thing to do is to roll into your local Citroen dealer and ask someone in parts to look at it and they should be able to get you one then.
Q: How do plastic tubes compare to rubber tubes in terms of elasticity?
Plastic tubes generally have lower elasticity compared to rubber tubes. While both materials exhibit some degree of flexibility, rubber tubes are known for their superior elasticity, allowing them to stretch and return to their original shape more easily. Plastic tubes, on the other hand, tend to be less stretchable and may not have the same level of elasticity as rubber tubes.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for structural applications?
No, plastic tubes are generally not suitable for structural applications as they lack the strength and durability required for supporting heavy loads or withstanding significant forces.
Q: What is the maximum pressure that plastic tubes can handle?
The maximum pressure that plastic tubes can handle varies depending on the type of plastic used and the specific design and thickness of the tube. Generally, plastic tubes can handle pressures ranging from a few hundred psi (pounds per square inch) to several thousand psi. It is important to consult the manufacturer's specifications and guidelines to determine the maximum pressure rating for a particular plastic tube.
Q: What is the average cost of plastic tubes?
The average cost of plastic tubes can vary significantly depending on factors such as size, material, and quantity. It is recommended to research suppliers and compare prices to get an accurate estimate for the specific type of plastic tube needed.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for use with corrosive substances?
No, plastic tubes are generally not suitable for use with corrosive substances as they can react with the chemicals and cause degradation or failure of the tube, potentially leading to leaks or contamination.
Q: I have speed queen commercial washers and the pressure sensing system becomes compromised by soap build up in the tubes that lead to the pressure switches. I have removed and manually cleaned each tube. Does anyone have experience with a chemical I can run through a wash that will disolve the continual build up and that chemical will not do damage to the rubber/plastic tubing?
Soaps are soluble in mildy basic solutions, like ammonia. You might try that. Of course, if you're getting a build-up, it may mean your water is running high on calcium magnesium ions (i.e., it's 'hard'). In that case, water softeners may be your best best.
Q: i am designing something that has a frame of tubing that its relaxed when there is no air pressure in it, but becomes straight and reletivley rigid when when you put air presure in it.
The 2 foot diameter nylon sleeves filled with low pressure air that you see for advertising displays. If you try to use small diameter tubing, with flexible plastic tubing, it won't work. The closest tubing that does work is specially made for pressure gauges, and it just slightly uncoils under pressure.
Q: Can duct tape be used to fix flexible plastic tubing? We sprung a leak in the flexible plastic tubing last night and so I am hoping I can just use duct tape to fix the small crack in the flexible plastic tubing. Thanks,Jeff
If it's just air, go for it. Water may cause the duct tape to fall off eventually, especially if it's applied poorly but it won't hurt to try. In either case, clean the area before you apply the tape to maximize it's stickiness.
