- Q: The dishwasher behind my bar at work has a leak. The pipe that's leaking is Parker Parflex PP 3/8 plastic tubing that connects into a metal nut and brings clean water in. The pipe has a leak exactly where it meets the nut, so in theory I could cut off the cracked portion and then re-seal it to the nut. Can I cut it with wire cutters? Should it be sanded after I cut it? Do I use a teflon sealant? Thanks for any help!
- That should be a compression fitting. If it's a brass fitting then they are one time use. You can get a new brass fitting, cut the PP tube clean with a knife or a razor blade - be careful not to cut yourself please, then install the nut over the tube, slip the compression ring over the tube and if there's an insert that goes inside the PP, insert that. Then push the hose into the fitting and slide the nut and ring to the threaded portion of the fitting and tighten it. Be careful to tighten it enough to seal but not so tight you cut through the pipe again. It's likely the reason you have the leak in the first place is because someone overtightened it. OR you can simply buy a replacement hose. I'd prefer a wire braid shielded pipe. Stronger and made with a professional fitting on the end, one you don't have to mess with. My opinion, replacing the tube is the better idea. And they're not stupidly expensive either. Good luck with your project. '')
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for storing personal care products?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for storing personal care products as they are commonly used in the cosmetics and personal care industry for packaging items such as creams, lotions, gels, and serums. Plastic tubes provide convenience, ease of use, and are often designed to be portable and hygienic.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for irrigation purposes?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for irrigation purposes. They are commonly used to transport water from a water source to the desired area for irrigation, providing a cost-effective and efficient solution for watering plants and crops. Plastic tubes are lightweight, durable, and flexible, making them easy to install and maneuver. Additionally, they can be designed with various diameters and lengths to suit different irrigation systems and requirements.
- Q: do i need to need to clean the gas tube on my ar-15?
- I've never seen an AR malfunction from a dirty gas tube. That said, if you're cleaning your AR anyway, it's not really out of the way, so why not clean it? And, if you use the rifle for any kind of personal defense, the answer should be obvious.
- Q: Please help me!!! This is for my science class and i am so confused xS
- A magnet gets attracted to metal (copper) Which means in a tube it will be attracted from all the directions This attraction holds the magnet in its current position But the the gravity attracts it down, while the tube holds it And resultantly the magnet tries to obey both the attraction (it tries to stay still and move down) which makes it fall slower than its fall in plastic tube where the plastic tube offers no attraction
- Q: What is the level of transparency of plastic tubes?
- The level of transparency of plastic tubes can vary depending on the type and quality of the plastic used. Some plastic tubes may have high transparency, allowing for clear visibility of the contents inside, while others may have a lower level of transparency, resulting in a more opaque appearance.
- Q: Do plastic tubes have any limitations in terms of gas permeability?
- Yes, plastic tubes do have limitations in terms of gas permeability. While some plastics have low gas permeability, others may allow certain gases to pass through. The permeability depends on the type and quality of plastic used. Therefore, it is important to consider the specific application and requirements when selecting plastic tubes for gas containment.
- Q: im just wondering
- I guess you are asking about the small plastic tubes inserted in the ear to drain them. My husband had to have one several years ago because there was so much fluid in the Eustachian tube. When you go swimming or shower, you have to put cotton in the ear and cover it with Vaseline so no water will get in. It gets messy. Many times these tubes will fall out on their own. Otherwise, they're left in for a couple of months at a time. They are very tiny tubes.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for storing automotive fluids?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for storing automotive fluids. Many plastic tubes are designed to be resistant to the corrosive properties of automotive fluids, making them a suitable choice for fluid storage in vehicles. However, it is important to ensure that the specific type of plastic used is compatible with the specific fluid being stored to prevent any potential chemical reactions or degradation.
- Q: What's the fire suppression ring for the drain pipe? What are the requirements?
- According to China's Ministry of housing GB 50242-2002 "building water and heating engineering construction quality acceptance" in indoor drainage system installation section 5.2.4: ring of fire or fire resistance should be set according to the design requirements of casing plastic drainage pipe design of high-rise buildings.
