Q: Do solar panels require a specific orientation or angle for optimal performance?
Yes, solar panels generally require a specific orientation and angle for optimal performance. The ideal orientation for solar panels is facing south in the Northern Hemisphere and north in the Southern Hemisphere to maximize exposure to sunlight. Additionally, the optimal angle of tilt varies depending on the latitude of the installation site to maximize energy production throughout the year.
Q: I have a 2 volt deep cylce Everstart battery with 845 cranking amps, and a Grape Solar GS-S-250-Fab5 250-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel . I use them to power a 48Flat screen TV, a Roku, my 65 watt consuming MacBook Pro, and a 65 watt Fan.I know from previous experience that just the battery, an inverter, and the fan, that the fan will blow for 0 hours straight.Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller?
Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller? Yes. The main purpose of the charge controller is to protect the battery from over charging. Over charging reduces battery life. And spending extra money for a MPPT type controller will get more more useable power out of your solar panel. Would another battery of the same magnitude be helpful in preventing an accident? How much storage capacity does your current battery have (measured in kWH)? A ~$20 Kill-a-Watt meter would take a lot of uncertainty out of how much power you actually use. Even deep cycle batteries suffer reduced battery life from deep discharges. The battery sounds too small for the loads you describe so I would think you would want more. ---------------------------------------... After reading the other answer In a nutshell, with your small 2 volt starting battery, 24 volt panel and a mix of unknown loads, (which is correct), I thought I would elaborate. I had not considered the possibility that you bought a 24 volt panel for your 2 volt battery. Hooking the panel you bought directly to the current battery is a horrible idea. I you were lucky it would just cook the battery in a short period of time. You basically bought the wrong type of panel for a 2 volt system. I assume that there are no controllers on the the market for this situation. If that's the case, I don't know of any good way match the 24v panel to the 2 volt battery.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a rented property?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a rented property. However, it is important to check with the property owner or landlord before proceeding with the installation. Some landlords may have restrictions or specific guidelines for installing solar panels, while others may require written permission. It is recommended to discuss the matter with the property owner and potentially reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
Q: im making an energy efficiant house for science class and i need to price the house. im putting solar pannels on the roof and would u please tell me how much they are per like 2 sq. feet of a pannel?
Completely self-efficient and autonomous??? Forget it. Too expensive. It's only worth if you use like 8 lights (2-20w) about 4 hours a day, a fridge, a tv about 4 hours/day and basically nothing else or a few low consume stuff. Forget about microwaves, dryers, or other stuff. Too much watts. And that would cost you no less than 5000-6000$. You need panels (about 4 or 6 20w would suit maybe), 2 batteries (about 600Ah at least), inverter(500w/24v) and a regulator, lets say a 30A one. Just stick to normal energy supply. A single 20w panel may cost about 750$ at least.
Q: Can any body tell me how much Electricity can 0 Standard solar panels produce in a day( in terms of Watts)Or else please tell me how many Watts is 5 volts of electricity?
You are missing one bit of information in order to get an answer. Watts = Volts x Amps Find out how many amps the collector can put out and you can then plug in the numbers into the equation and get your answers.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on forests or protected areas?
Solar panels can be installed on forests or protected areas, but it is important to carefully consider the potential environmental impact and sustainability of such installations. Proper planning and assessment should be conducted to determine the potential disturbance to ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and biodiversity. In some cases, it may be more appropriate to explore alternative locations or prioritize the use of existing infrastructure for solar panel installations.
Q: I have purchased a 2 volt LED lantern from argos, it comes with a built in 6 volt 4ah sealed acid battery. What I wanted to know is would I be able to charge it using my 6 volt solar panel?
You okorder /... ] But I would suggest you contact . If you email, be prepared to provide more detailed specifications on your 6 volt solar panel and lantern data. You may just have to purchase a RECHARGEABLE 6V 4ah battery from them. Best of wishes.
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of radiofrequency interference?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of radiofrequency interference. However, it is important to ensure that the solar panel system is properly shielded or grounded to minimize any potential impact on its performance due to radiofrequency interference.
Q: Do solar panels require a specific type of inverter for converting DC to AC power?
Yes, solar panels require a specific type of inverter known as a solar inverter to convert the direct current (DC) power produced by the panels into alternating current (AC) power that can be used in households or fed into the electric grid.
Q: I'm trying to charge rechargeable AA batteries with a solar panel. What gauge wire should I use to connect the panel to the batteries? I know I'm not going to have a lot of current going through so the wire size doesn't really matter. Can the wire be too thick thoShould I ugh? Should I use a diode to keep the batteries from overpowering the circuit? If so, what size diode? My panel is 4.8V 50mA. Can I just hook the panel straight into the batteries or do I need something else?
In order: .? Just about any wire will do.? You can handle 50 mA over just about anything, even 28 gauge telephone wire.? Your biggest problems are probably going to be mechanical stress (you want stranded wire instead of solid, to avoid breakage) and dealing with the size of larger wires. 8 gauge speaker wire may be a good optimum. 2.? You need a diode.? If you're charging NiMH or NiCd cells you're going to have about .25 volts/cell; you can charge up to 3 of them in series with a 4.8 volt panel.? The solar panel is a bunch of diodes itself, but they're leaky in the reverse direction; the diode prevents the batteries from discharging themselves back through the panel.? You want a Schottky-barrier diode, because the forward voltage drop is about 0.2 volts instead of 0.7 volts for a regular silicon rectifier.? This gives you maximum current output from your panel.
