I have 2 kids and recently purchased bunk beds, they are great the kids love them, best advice purchase a more comfortable mattress, bunk mattresses are not that cozy. Also, if it is for kids i would purchased the Bunky boards or have Home Depot cut more slats. If it is for kids I would go with a wood structure instead of metal, just for the piece of mind. Q: What is the difference between a platform bed and a regular bed....which one is better? In your opinion?: a platform bed has wood slats or plywood as the base....a regular bed you can get with a foundation which is made of wood and will not give or wear out...a box spring will wear out and your mattress springs will start to give with the box spring...kind of like rolling into the middle..anyways a platform is also lower but i like mine with a foundation.....foundation--- platform---6 of one half dozen of the other nfused now box springs suck....
