Q: How good are the Kirby Vacuum cleaners?: Ive had a Kirby, Electrolux and Rainbow (BIG pain!) I recently bought a Dyson (purple one for around $500) Best one yet! I have allergies and asthma so I am always trying to get one that helps with my problems. My friend raved about the Dyson (and it is bagless) I use it more than the others now. (actually the Rainbow was sold in a yard sale, and the Electrolux is now for the cars only) Even if they were the same price - I prefer the Dyson over all of the higher priced brands.

Q: Vacuum cleaner or carpet???: I think they invented the vacuum cleaner and then later the carpet. They probably thought of a machine to clean their sod floors before ever coming up with carpet.

Q: Alright, we've lived in this apartment for a year and three months, and we're on our third vacuum cleaner. The first two were Eureka's, then we bought a cheap bissel this last time. I had been taking excellent care of my vacuums, right down to washing the dirt cups, filter and cleaning out the carpet brushes with every use. I couldn't figure out why we were going through them like we were, but everyone suggested that cat hair is clogging them and burning them up. The newest started acting up within two uses (and it's not a large apartment, and we have one cat who hardly sheds, and we clean on a regular basis. Anyways, I tore the stupid thing apart to find MOUNDS of cat hair clogged in it. There was at least enough to be the size of a softball in the hose. So, how the heck is this thing clogging so fast, and what can I do to prevent it? I can't be tearing the stupid thing apart after every use, I refuse to shave or get rid of the cat and I can't exactly just stop vacuuming. Help me please!: Vacuum more often so it isn't picking up so much hair at one time. Try using a clothes roller (the sticky kind) on the floor before you vacuum to remove some of the cat hair.

Q: I am currently looking for a new vacuum cleaner. The old one I've had is falling apart and its being held together by a shoulder strap and duct tape. I am currently looking for a commercial upright or backpack vacuum cleaner but I'm not sure if they are meant for home use. Can you help me out here?: Sure why not. If you can find a store that sells one. I'd check in the yellow pages for commercial cleaning supplies. Expect to pay a significant premium. It will not have more suction. The plastic bits will be replaced by metal and it will have a longer cord.

Q: How electrolux differ from any other vacuum cleaner and what are the unique features?: I love an electrolux they last a long time and they really work. But they can be heavy so if weight is a problem, go with an Oreck. But I Love the way the lux has that long vacuum head. And a reset button if something gets stuck and you have to pull it out. its great. I would`t go bag less they just seem to lose suction over time. Unless your willing to invest in a dyson.

Q: It sounds a bit odd but I'm dead serious. Whenever I look at my vacuum I have a bizarre urge to make love to it. But the other day when I tried it really hurt when it suctioned my dick so I kind of want to stop, but for some reason no matter what I do my vacuum won't look any less sexy. Q: does anyone own a refurbished Dyson vacuum cleaner? do they work well or break down within months?: Personally I would stay well away from ANY Dyson vacuum cleaner refurbished or not! I had one and it was the worst cleaner I've ever had. Dyson's 'no loss of suction' claim is just not true, it got easily clogged up and I was forever taking mine apart to get it to suck properly. There were so many bits of pipe you had to unclip to do this it was a real chore. It also had a sponge filter which would affect the suction when it had the smallest amount of dust in it. The motor went in mine after 2 years, it cost ?80 to replace but it never really worked properly afterwards. I threw it out eventually and bought a Henry which is really simple to use and sucks like a demon all the time.

Q: Are they good?: Yeah less mess you just empty them into the bin..... and you save money on refills .......we have always had bagless vacuums

Q: What is the best vacuum to buy when you have dogs. I need something good at picking up dirt and hair. I know a kirby is good but I dont have tht kind of money.: i was just gunna answer ur ? then i seen the details...lol i was gunna say a kirby.....i have that one it works great and its more than just a vacuum....but other than that i would say one of the ones u see on tv....i had one it worked good but i just dont remember the name of it all i know is its on commercials and with an old guy. haha

Q: In other words, why are some electric motors very quiet but others are so loud? Why can't they make a quiet vacuum cleaner?: The noise of a vacuum does not come from the motor, but from the eddies in the air being sucked. Open a vacuum cleaner and remove the impeller (the fan) and it would get a lot more quiet.
