Q: any specific brands or models? I'm looking for under 200 dollars, thanks: Unfortunately with vacuum cleaners as with all other things in life, you get what you pay for. You aren't going to find a good pet vacuum for that price, unless you find someone selling a used but still functional one. I own a Dyson DC17 Animal. It does a great job, but also will run you close to $500. My less expensive Bissel Pet Hair Eraser was repaired under warranty 3 times and died again right after the warranty expired. Plus, it didn't clean half as well as the Dyson even when it was working properly.

Q: Me and my boyfriend have quite long hair. Mine to my waist, his almost halfway down his back. Very thick.The problem is we always destroy vacuum cleaners, from all the hairs we shed. Any ideas for special vacuum cleaners, tips, etc?: You need to buy a vacuum cleaner that can handle hair. Check with consumer reports. We have a Bissell and it works great on pet hair. Or get a shop vac. Or cut you hair short.

Q: I need a good one that has edge cleaner, easy to maneuver, not too heave (under 20lbs) and quality. I like the bag-less type. Thanks for your input.: Dyson hands down. Had mine for 6 years and still runs like champ. All filters a lifetime warrenty and are washable. Just price shop around for an older model.

Q: everytime i turn my vacuum cleaner on ,my dog gos nuts starts barking and trys to bite it, ?? why they do that: Your dog is probably thinking oooh goody a toy play play play play!!!! he/she might also be thinking, Oh no that stupid and loud vacuum cleaner is on again, or What is that thing? Its invading my territory. What if it pees and marks its spot? aah!!!! I would suggest putting your dog outside when you vacuum. It wouldn't hurt your dogs ears as much (because he/she wouldn't hear it) And if your dog does have a territory in your home, and your dog is inside, don't vacuum so close to it unless your dog could really care aless or he/she is outside! ( I am thinking along the lines of positive and negative pressure): no, you need matter to make a vacuum and space has no gas or pressure for this to happen. nothing would be moving. you need gas to produce the suction which produce the vacuum
