Q:I heard it was possible to make a portable 12v source by combining 1 transistor battery and 2 double A's. The reason being is because I am wanting to test some 12v cold cathode lights that I bought for my car and test out different positions in the car before I hard wire them.Will this work? Are batteries DC?: With the losses inherent in the motor and the alternator, the battery will gradually go flat. Actually a motor itself puts some power back into the circuit, it uses a lot to start but them the amount of current drops considerable as it runs. I'm not sure what your question has to do with cars and transportation though.

Whether the motor burns out depends on the battery you use, not the connector. They are two separate issues. If the motor is going to be burned out by the 11.1V 2200mAh 25C Li-Poly Battery Pack, then it will get burned out whether you use Deans or Tamiya connector. Having said that, the question is whether the Tamiya will be able to handle the current that the motor draws (without heating up and melting. That depends on a lot of factors, such as how much current the motor will draw, what kind of wires you are using, what kind of gears you are using, etc. Sometimes, that just requires trial and error.
