- Q: Basically, my desire is to power a fan off of a battery pack, while also having a solar panel fueling the battery. It also needs to be small enough to carry with me. Is this possible? Where might I find such a battery pack? I wouldn't mind using rechargeable AAs as opposed to a single battery.
- As kk says, charging systems (like in a car) are designed for exactly that. Lead-acid is kind of heavy to carry. Try something modern like lithium-iron or lithium-ion with a higher energy density (I don't know much about Li-Iron, but I just ordered one for my motorcycle that is a third the weight of lead-acid but with the same high current and longevity etc.)
- Q: I don't understand why if there's this big worry with electric cars about range anxiety, is why they all don't just use the 85kwh batteries used on tesla cars to achieve around 300 miles of range. It would give EV's the kick start they need. If one were to pay big bucks could they have those types of batteries installed into say a leaf or a rav4 ev to get better range? Thanks!
- At the moment, only Tesla offers such large battery packs. Yes, other electric cars could do this, and also offer the 300-mile driving ranges Tesla does. * The other pure electric cars (Mitsubishi MiEV, Nissan Leaf, Toyota RAV4 EV) are focusing on a compromise between affordability and driving range. This is a marketing decision. Tesla's approach is no-compromise range and performance, and so they market to more upscale customers. Their extended range EVs sell for $60,000 to over $100,000, and feature very long driving ranges, super-fast charging and sportscar-like performance. * Mitsubishi's i-MiEV sells for around $21,000 after rebates, but has a driving range of less than 70 miles. Mitsubishi probably thinks this will appeal to more consumers, despite the much poorer driving range. * Time will fix this problem. Tesla shows us the technology exists today for long-range battery packs, and fast battery charging. Eventually, prices for these features will fall, as happens with nearly all new technology.
- Q: Hello:I am trying to jerry-rig a head lamp for my biking @ nightI am wanting to power a single fog light with a 6V/2.8AH battery packI know nothing about power/watts reallySo, my question is: how many watts of a bulb should I use to power the foglight for atleast 3-4 hours? Thanks for your help!
- Is the fog light meant to run off of a 6V power supply? If it is meant for a car or motorcycle, it is probably meant for a 12V power source. Just buy a bicycle light. They are pretty cheap.
- Q: i lost my battery pack for my xbox360 controller
- Yeah you need that to use the controller. You can buy a charging kit for it which comes with a rechargeable battery pack. But it won't work without it because it's wireless and it need some sort if power to work
- Q: I would like to run this motor intermittently using a portable drill-type rechargeable battery pack, maybe lithium-ion. How long could I expect it to function with say a 30 percent on/70 percent off duty cycle before it drains the battery?
- all of us else advised you regarding the motor, and that they are quite often good different than that maybe they are exaggerating slightly approximately what's going to ensue (e.g., circulate up in smoke, soften). yet be conscious! The wires you employ can circulate up in smoke or soften in the event that they are not heavy adequate (do no longer question me how i understand!). on the different hand, i think of they are deceptive you approximately your image voltaic panel. there isn't any such factor as a 12V panel. in the experience that your panel is labelled 12V, that in simple terms approximately easily skill that it replaced into designed for charging a 12V battery. I even have a 5W 12V panel that i offered to test with. In complete sunlight, this is open circuit voltage is 25V. when I hook it as much as a battery, regardless of the incontrovertible fact that, its output voltage is on the instant compelled to despite the voltage of the battery replaced into on the time. If the battery voltage replaced into low, and that i circulate away it interior the sunlight all day, that voltage will (ever so slowly) upward push. in case you do no longer use a charge controller, then it quite is quite useful to observe it, and disconnect the battery from the panel whilst the voltage gets up over 14V. a solid rule of thumb for lead-acid batteries, B.T.W.: in case you pick for them to final, then do no longer charge or discharge the battery in something under 10 hours. it quite is to assert, in the experience that your battery is labelled 12Ah, then you quite quite oughten't to entice from now on than a million.2A from it, or charge it at extra desirable than a million.2A.
- Q: I heard that there's an official Microsoft rechargeable battery pack that can be used with the Play and Charge Kit, and another one that's only a shell battery compartment that you attach to your controller and use normal disposable batteries for it. Which kind of battery pack is included when you buy an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller?
- The Rechargeable Battery Pack for the Xbox 360 controller contains two AA nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries inside a sealed casing, with a custom connector on the rear to allow charging through the Xbox 360 controller itself. If you need more information you can visit the following link
- Q: Does anyone know where i can buy a Toshiba Li-ion Battery Pack, Model No. PA3450U-1BRS, DC 14.4 V, 2000mAh? Laptop model is Satellite L10 - 281Thanks in advance!
- Yea, probably OKorder or on the actual Toshiba website or if your lucky maybe a local computer store, Bestbuy might have some, but to just buy batteries I don't see to often, everyone I've known who's bought batteries for laptops was online.
- Q: I need to build a battery pack that will last a min 2hrs to power a motor through a speed controller. The motor will be run at the slowest speed possible.Motor Specifications:? Torque: 12.0kg/cm? Rated Voltage: 12.0V? Operating: 4.5 - 18V max? Current - No load: 70mA? Current - Full load: 1380mA? Gear Ratio:
- You need to do two things to work this out as you have not provided enough detail. Step one: Determine average motor current over the two hour period. Step two: Calculate the required AH (amp hour) rating required for the batteries. Step one: connect an ammeter to the supply side of the speed controller. Run the motor at the speed you require. Measure the current. (lets assume 300mA) Step two: Battery Capacity. Lets say you need 3 hours run time. 300mA * 3 hours 900mAhours required. Check the AH rating of your batteries. (lets assume they are 450mAH rated) Building the battery pack: You neeed 8 batteries in series to get the required 12V. But if you did this you would only have a 450mAH rated battery pack. You need to double that, so put another 8 batteries in series. That will give you 900mAH which is what you require. (total 16 batteries) If you have 900mAH batteries you would only need 8. If you have 450mAH battaries you would need 16 (two parallel lots of 8) If you have 100mAH batteries you would need 72 batteries (9 parallel lots of 8)etc If you have 1800mAH batteries you will still need 8 to get the required voltage, but the motor will run aproximately twice as long as with the 900mAH solutions. Hope this helps!
- Q: i lost the pack for the AA's to go in and my play and charge cord doesnt work so i have a dead battery from that. any help is aprecciated.
- unfortunatly not. It's possible but wouldnt be worth your time. You best off by buying a new battery pack
- Q: I'd go thru maybe 6 a year of AA. I'd go thru 4 of AAA. What is the biggest multi-pack I should buy?
- well.i'd actually say buy rechargeables.
