- Q: Ok, the bottom cabinets (vanity) is 60" wide and the the sink or vanity top is 61" wide dual bowl cultured marble. The vanity and vanity top in question is my profile pic or avatar and I had a house fire and now I have to find this sink and cabinets to have it replaced. Except I bought it from a private seller and now I don't have any idea who makes it or where I can find it and I've been looking for days and I'm going a little crazy. Any help would be so awesome and you would be awesome. Thanks

- yes it is possible, BUT if it has drawers in it you might need to cut down the drawer boxes also. You;ll also have to replace the slides to work with the new depth. After you cut down the depth you'll need to be sure you can get a top that will work with this depth. If you have not done this before, you might want to hire a cabinet maker or a finish carpenter to cut this down for you. Also see if you can order this vanity in the depth you need.
- Q: So a little help on how to disconnect pipes and whatnot
- Make sure you know where the main water shutoff is to the entire bathroom/house before you do this. Older plumbing has a nasty way of springing unexpected leaks when you start messing with it. It is even sometimes the case that your undercounter valves will still permit a small dribble even when they are shut all the off. Don't forget to kill the electricity as well if you have outlets surrounding the countertop.

- Q: Need some help with placement. How far from the back wall do you place recessed lights? I think I have them spaced right just unsure of how far back. My vanity counter will be 73.5" long. Installing (3) 3" 50 watt lights over the vanity. I pretty much decided to put one light on center 36.75" from side wall and the other two 18" to each side. Does that sound good? But, how far from the back wall? I would like the light to wash down the wall and reflect the light as well. I know I will need to find some other wall sconce lights for around the mirror but would like to make correct decision on the recessed for now
- Above a vanity we usually go 12' out from mirror most vanity's average 24' or so this will give you an even coverag of surface and wall. Also as other poster said if you purchase the can lights that can be positioned and moved you can always adjust slightly later if a bit unhappy.

- Q: I bought a vanity made by American Standard. It has a wood-like paper applied on it, with some material (glaze or varnish etc). Can I use such paper material on the kitchen cabinets? Does it last? Where do they sell wood paper? The stain seems to be fully absorbed by the wood so it is not coming off. I dont like to paint the cabinets. However, this wood paper gives some shade/grain-like look to the bathroom vanity. I want the kitchen cabinets to look similar.
- The height of the kitchen cabinet is not really the problem, but the depth can be problematic for some people. Most kitchen base cabinets are 24 inches deep, where bathroom cabinets can be 14, 16, 18, etc. If you use the kitchen cabinet, do you have a vanity ready for this? It would be a huge sink. If you're remodeling, I'd suggest going to check out samples of bathroom vanity cabinets. The depth of the vanity varies and cultured tops can be any size. They are always on sale at Home Depot. Consider something that is not deep and something you can live with. Another option would be to consider a pedestal sink and these can be very shallow in depth. You should consider doing some customizing since you will be both using this. My wife is 5'3 using a pedestal sink and uses the mirror just fine. I had a mirror cabinet mounted 3 lower than standard and she's happy with the results. If you have that extra kitchen cabinet, don't use it in the bathroom. It will work better in the garage. It will save you grief in the long run because as you get older, you won't want to lean over the sink to get to the mirror.
- Q: Im thinking of getting a vanity basket with ladies accessories and putting it in the receptions venues bathroom for the guests, I.e. hairspray, hair clips, tampons, body spray, lotion etc.My fiancé thinks drunk guests will end up stealing the stuff so not to bother. Should I get one?
- Who cares if they steal stuff? Does your fiance really want to go home with leftover hairspray and tampons at the end of the night? Weird. As someone who works for a wedding vendor, I love those bathroom baskets. I inevitably forget a hair tie or a bobby pin or need some lotion or something so they're super convenient. I can only imagine that other women feel the same way. Yes, someone you're paying to be there might use one of your bobby pins or some lotion. We're people and our hands get dry too.
