- Q: Hello, i am goin in on Dec 5 to write the millwright C of Q for the 3rd time. On the test there was a question that went something like this The crane is rated 40Ton, with a boom lenght of 40ft and at an angle of 70 deg. The jib is 8ft long on a 10 deg angle. What is the sefe working load. The numbers are not correct but that is how the question is phrased. Please help me with the formula. I cannot find it anywhere.

I did find this Liebherr the heavy equipment company have developed a new all terrain nine axle mobile crane that is the worlds most powerful. The Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 has a maximum lifting capacity of 1,200 tons with its powerful 100 metre (328 ft) telescopic boom. another: Deira City Centre was the crane’s first lift as it assisted in completing the work in less than 30 hours in what would have otherwise taken an approximate 20 days. The monster machine can lift up to 1,200 tonnes and cover an area over 100m wide. The operational weight is 96 tonnes and the total counterweight is 202 tonnes. Average weight of the stones in the Great pyramid is 2.5 tonnes. So either of those cranes could lift over 400 of these at once.

- Q: This poor little guy has been out on my balcony where I smoke my cigarettes for two days now. One wing is badly mangled and he can't fly away, I thought to just let him work it out yesterday in hopes of him healing on his own somewhere, but today he was climbing on my leg as if asking for help and I feel horrible for him now...he's suffering, he hasn't gone far in at least 24 hours I feel I should feed him and give him water until he heals...what do crane flies even eat?? Any advise aside of killing him and putting him out of his misery would be great!!
- Well, it looks like they only have a lifespan of a 2 weeks at the most, so I'd just make him comfortable and let nature do its thing. According to Wikipedia, adult crane flies don't really eat--they just hang out and mate... If you really want, I suppose you could put some sugar water in a bottle cap or something for him.
