Q: If there are cranes by a small pond should there be fish?
Cranes don't typically eat fish. They mostly eat insects, maybe an unlucky frog. If you're seeing herons or cormorants at this pond regularly, then that's your sign there's fish present. It doesn't take those birds too long to scope out an area for fish, and if there are not any there, the birds will move on. If they are there every day, grab your rod and reel and check it out.
Q: I've heard that daddy longlegs aka crane flies contain the most deadly venom of all insects. The only reason they aren't dangerous or deadly is because they have no mouth or 'straw' to inject the venom. But I'm not sure what's correct. Although they cannot harm us humans, is it possible for them to be able to inject the venom into other creatures? Also, I've heard that dragonflies contain deadly venom too, but just like with the crane flies, they cannot transfer the venom any way. Is this true?Any zoology professionals? Note: I may need correcting, and this may even be just an urban myth. Thanks for your time!

Q: Please help!
The Fāng family lived in Fujian, a province of China, in a place where there were many cranes. Qīniáng's father knew the Southern Chinese martial arts and taught them to his daughter. One day, while Qīniáng was doing her chores, a crane alighted nearby. Qīniáng tried to scare the bird off using a stick and the skills she learned from her father but whatever she did, the crane would counter. Qīniáng tried to hit the crane on the head, but the bird moved its head out of the way and blocked the stick with its wings. Qīniáng tried to hit the crane's wings, but the crane stepped to the side and this time blocked with the claws of its feet. Qīniáng tried to poke the crane's body, but the crane dodged backwards and struck the stick with its beak. From then on, Qīniáng carefully studied the movements of cranes and combined these movements with the martial arts she learned from her father, creating the White Crane style of Fujian Province. A side note from someone else: There are many versions of this legend, it is unlikely that the crane actually blocked the stick Qīniáng used, it is more likely that it evaded, and countered. The point of the style is to make less use of physical strength, stressing evasion, and attacks to vulnerable areas instead. Not depending on strength, is what makes white crane fitting elements so popular, especially for women’s self defence. Popular karate bunkai (breakdown) of white crane katas like hakutsuru, stress vital point striking or kyusho. The white crane system is not practiced much, if at all, anymore. There are several kata in karate, that have white crane elements, most stem from the Chinese tea merchant on Okinawa, Go Kenki, but few, if any, have the true white crane system anymore. There's also a tibetan style and a karate style named after it that strongly resembles it and incorporates much of the same methods.
Q: What does "jack up" tower crane 1000KNm mean?
The Greek letter of torque is tau. The concept of torque originates from Archimedes's study of leverage. Rotational torque, also known as torque or torque. The torque can change the rotational motion of an object. Pushing or pulling involves force, while torsion involves torque. The moment is equal to the cross product of the radial vector and the force.
Q: does wing chun and karate come from the same white crane style of wushu/kung fu?
The original White Crane Fist came from a woman named Fang Chiniang. Her father was a Master of the Fujian Luohan Style and she learned that from him. The story is that he was murdered by some bandits. She developed crane style to avenge him... sounds like a typical kung fu movie. She studied the movements of the crane and used the Luohan Boxing as her foundation. The Fujian Luohan style is quite different from Luohan styles of the other temples. It is from where Fujian White Crane's Sanchien (Sanchin) is derived. I have a video where 11th Gen White Crane Master - Su Ying Han is showing where two Okinawans went to Yong Chun Village in Fujian to learn They are in the Lineage Chart in his Records. One of the names is close in pronunciation with Aragaki Seisho, who was known by the Chinese and called by a Chinese name. The Yong Chun White Crane is also where the Crane Styles taught in Taiwan come from - Sleeping, Shouting, Shaking, Feeding and Ancestral Crane. The people who developed these styles were disciples of Fang Chiniang. Wing Chun's root is from Yong Chun White Crane and Snake Fist. There is also the Tibetan White crane but it is not related. It is closer related to White Ape Boxing and Mok Gar and Hop Gar. This is where Hung Gar Crane comes from.

Q: Are sandhill cranes edible?
Most living creatures are edible. That being said, it doesn't mean that A) It will taste good or B) you will like it. However, there is an old saying that says, Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Now, if a person needed to eat one in order to survive a dire situation that's one thing. However, just to kill it and eat it out of curiosity is another thing. My suggestion...eat chicken (haha) besides most mystery meat is always said that it tastes like chicken. Another thing is that if you choose to mess around with wild birds, there's no guarantee that they don't have diseases like Avian bird flu. Farm raised animals at least get tested. Also, are sandhill cranes considered endangered for that matter? Just stuff to think about. You might want to talk to a Game Warden.
