- Tower crane originated in Western europe. The first patent on tower cranes for construction was issued in 1900. In 1905, a crane with a boom was fixed in the tower.

- Tower cranes assembly starts with the foundation of the crane with lot concrete blocks for fixing, then they fix the first bottom part of the crane then they fix the boom with the counter weights, when they want to extend the height, they fix a jack up machine which lift up the boom and then insert a vertical piece and so on till they reach the required height. During the first installation they use a small mobile crane and then after the crane it self lift and fix the pieces

- What is the load weight? How high is the lift? Obstruction, possibly needing a jib? If you are placing a load onto a roof, how far from the edge of the roof is the load going to be placed? - Q: Cranes are normally used in construction in most countries.But I saw some photos that show Iranians are hanging criminals in pubic with cranes instead of gallows.Is it more painful to the dying criminals to the last moment?Do you know why?
- they probably didn't have the proper arrangements to carry out the punishment so they used cranes instead of gallows. who knows? but weird really. and it wouldn't be more painful... err... the purpose is to snap the neck... ouch :(

- It doesn't. It's briefly mentioned in Catching Fire. That's just something the movie added in, a nice touch. Also in the book it is believed that Seneca Crane was hanged.
