Q: What insulation should i use to fill between the joists of my house before i replace the plasterboard ceiling?
The easiest and least expensive for a DIY is fiberglass. Measure the depth of the joist cavity and buy insulation of the same thickness. If you use an insulation with a vapor barrier, be sure to place the vapor barrier toward the living space.
Q: Living room ceiling to sink at least how much? Is the keel gypsum board and so on the thickness of the ceiling material is about how much
If the ceiling inside the downlight, then octagonal box + the height of the lamp + wood keel + gypsum board 20cm high If the ceiling is no downlight, then the point can be less, but the ceiling is based on the style of the house there are beams of height factors
Q: 3dmax gypsum board suture how to do
First cable, in the extrusion
Q: we've boarded out our eves in our attic and filled the gaps and screwholes with polyfilla. i'm a bit skint at the moment and the plasterer don't come cheaply! so i was thinking of painting straight onto the plasterboard just to make it look a bit tidyer. which would be the best way?, would i need to seal it first and if so how? Would normal emulsion work or would i need to use something else? thanks
You don't need a skim coat at all. Just use 1 to 2 coats of drywall primer (cheaper than regular primer) before painting. You could also paint without priming - but the result may be poor.
Q: 12mm thick gypsum board is the proportion of how much?
You are in the water to know. If it is ordinary gypsum board, are generally floating on the water, the density is certainly less than 1. If it is a special gypsum board, add a lot of glass fiber and the like, the density may be slightly greater than 1.
Q: Now is the decoration, the original plan is the top of the room is to brush latex paint, but the foreman said the above between the prefabricated cracks are more obvious, made latex paint is also prone to cracks, it is strongly recommended to do gypsum board ceiling. The original top of the treatment method is: the original latex paint eradication, coated interface agent, approved scratch wall lining, painting primer, scraping paste cream, coated latex paint. Now from the scriptures
From the decoration of the professional point of view Even if the consumption of human resources and resources are not expensive No ceiling spray latex paint to do the effect is not ideal, because the original floor building is always uneven Which lost the proper craftsmanship of the process, not to mention there will be a follow-up after the phenomenon of cracking Now the strategy is true, support! How much the current cost should not increase At present, when making smallpox use space height Should leave the original ceiling 80mm elevation for the appropriate, because this is the LED downlight installation height
Q: So, I accidently flooded my bath. The skirting boards around the sink and wood that boxes around the sink have become damp which has now dried out but the wood has cracked and I suppose that it's become warped. Now, I'm not sure how to deal with this as this wood is attached to the plasterboard wall. By removing this wood and replacing it I fear that I might damage the plasterboard wall.Any advice on how to tackle this? I kind of want some advice before I look into calling someone out
Those skirting boards as you call them were originally installed to act as a support for when the plasterers floated out the walls with plaster. You can go ahead and replace whatever is bad with new boards. The plaster will not fall off the wall, when you do this. You are fine! Understand that pre-1978 buildings with plaster have asbestos fibers in them. They are know to cause cancer. You need to specially CONTAIN the area and were special protection when doing this work. DO NOT CONTAMINATE OTHER AREAS OF THE HOUSE.
Q: What are the specifications of the light steel keel and gypsum board for the partition wall?
Do the wall commonly used light steel keel specifications, generally 75mm, 100mm of the two, this specification is to determine the wall thickness of the wall, and its length is generally 3m, 4m.
Q: Can you tape and plaster joints only on plasterboard? IE not skim whole room?
you can skim it, or blow it on to all of the wall, do any thing you want to it,
Q: im wanting to do a big art piece and though a plasterboard may be the best thing but i was wondering about when it comes to painting it is there anything id need to do before hand? and how would watercolour or acrilic paint look on it??
I would not recommend a pastel board for acrylic. Buy an ordinary canvas or Masonite board.
